WAG Regional/National level 10 age groups

Top 7 go whether you have 10 or 40 in your age group, and having that 35 qual score makes sure the athletes are of a good quality no matter how many kids are in that age group. I'm not sure where the "not fair" concept comes from. The athletes cant help how many athletes are in their age...

WAG IGC requiring female campers to wear shorts or leggings

I'm pretty sure IGC required girls to wear T shirts in the pool when we attended YEARS ago. They told us it was to prevent bullying, or the boys looking at the girls. It was pretty horrifying attitude back then too.

    WAG Level 8 Beam Series

There is a good reason gyms push the round off dismount: 1. much easier to get power for higher level dismounts (most athletes) 2. Its a sideways skill-helps with composition 3. A round off on beam is helpful in training straight round offs for Yurchenko work

looking for good quality for used gymnastics equipment

Hi Everyone, I am realizing a long time dream and opening my own gym! I am also realizing how expensive equipment is, and how little credit its available for a start up company. I am looking to purchase good quality, used gymnastics equipment. I am on the east coast, so picking it up within...

Insight and Ethics question mostly to coaches . . .

I would feel really wierd accepting this kind of gift as a coach. There might be more to it than you know about, like maybe the trip in exchange for tuition, or something like that? If not, I would feel like the person presenting such an elaborate gift would THINK they would get extra in...

    5 Year Old with Rips

sometimes making sure kids limit swimming in the summer before practices helps with rips. Making a tape grip should not be an issue, if it makes her feel better. She will get sick of it on her own I am sure and all will just move on....

    Level 9 release moves

It depends on the gymnast and what the coaches can coach/spot. I have my kids start playing around with drills in Level 6/7-then by the time they get to 8/9 it pretty much shows what they are good at. There are a lot of variables....for instance I dont go the pak route w bigger kids (I cant...

Why do coaches do this to kids??

I think a phone call to the gym is totally ok. The coaches have many many kids to look out for- they could have fogotten (not ok either, but it happens), one digit on a phone # could have been off, wrong email address, etc. It could very well be there is NOTHING sinister going on- it could...

    level 8 bars ?

from a coaching/judging perspective-her teammates routine is slightly cleaner on the straddle back, giants and flyaway. She also only has 1 hs which helps her score wise for sure. It looks like your daughter is improving at every meet-thats all the matters.
