    WAG Xcel?

Hello, and welcome to the Chalkbucket! This is a really old thread, you'd probably be a lot better off starting a new thread to ask these questions, you'll get more responses that way!

    Knee injuries??

Go to see your doctor-only they can properly diagnose and advise you.

    WAG Injury Question

Please don't ask for medical advice on the chalkbucket, nobody here can diagnose you over the internet. Listen to your doctor.

    WAG scary floor music

A girl on my team used this music and did very haunting/spooky choreography. It's not "scary" but it is spooky/dark, and it always made people turn and watch when they heard it, as it is very intense. http://floorexpressmusic.com/full-length-demos/CD2212-Run%20This%20Town-Demo.mp3

WAG Ideas for big age range?

Yes! I forgot to mention that while I am running/organizing the class, the owner of the community center is also helping out with the class, she just has no experience with gymnastics.

WAG Ideas for big age range?

I'm volunteering at a community center in my city that aims to provide low-income families with good child care. The majority of these children are children of immigrants who do not speak English very well. My job is to come in twice a week and teach a one hour gymnastics class to these kids...

    Off Topic Pokemon Go

I think one of the great things about the game is that it IS very possible to be walking around enjoying the outdoors while playing, without being glued to the screen at all. You can keep your phone in your pocket, go for a walk, and just pull it out every once in a while when it vibrates to...

    WAG Flyaway: Please Help

I know exactly how you feel! I struggled with flyaways on and off for years, even after I knew I was fully capable of them. What helped me was to have a visual cue to let go. My coach would put her arm up, and when I saw it, I knew to let go of the bar. The hardest part is letting go! You can...

WAG Transitioning to Middle School with Gymnastics

I always had the mindset of, if you really enjoy and excel at a subject, take it at the high level. In high school I was recommended for all higher level classes, but chose only to take the ones that I was actually interested in. Does she enjoy English language arts or science? I found that the...

WAG Gymnast or coach type more likely for mental block?

When I was younger, something very similar to this happened on my team. I think it was less "contagious," and more a result of the age of everyone on the team. We were all around the same age and just going through growth spurts. I honestly think we all would have had the mental blocks...

    WAG wristbands?

My competitive gymnastics years are behind me, but I agree, this definitely helps! Fabric softener is a huge no no for wristbands. (Although as slippery as the cotton ones can be after washing, the neoprene ones always felt even more slippery.)

    WAG wristbands?

Ditto on the making sure you are washing them regularly. I used to get wrist rips when my wristbands got hard/too chalky...I hated how it felt when they were freshly washed, though, (I swear it made them slippery!) so I understand not wanting to wash them more. I had teammates who used the...

WAG FINALLY 4 for 4 Level 10 Sophia

Wow!! Huge congratulations to her! It's great to see hard work and determination pay off, especially after so long. She's an incredible gymnast, you must be so proud!:D

Off Topic track success stories with gymnasts?

I did gymnastics all the way through high school, but started outdoor track my sophomore year as well. I'm now on a D3 track team at college, and I'm having a blast! I do pole vault and high jump. I know lots of girls who transitioned from gymnastics to track and are doing extremely well. One of...

    WAG Stress Fractures

I had a stress fracture in my foot awhile back...It started as just a random, really sharp pain in my foot when I was walking to school. I got an MRI, sure enough, it was a stress fracture. After a week it stopped hurting, and after two weeks I was back in the gym doing (limited) tumbling. No...
