    Level three Skills

I now have all of my level two skills down consistently, including the BHC with an underswing. All of my coaches have said it is probable that I move to (old) level three by the summer. The thing is, I can't move to level three without getting my level three skills. My coaches aren't really...

My best friend at the gym wants to quit

It takes a least a year or so to be even remotely competitive in swim team, unless you are a prodigy. Most people will go into swim team thinking that they are pretty good at swim, but then it turns out that they are at the bottom of the team. Have her time herself doing the freestyle/front...

    Tips on mill circle?

When I'm doing my mill circle, I'll do the rotation, and get to the top, but then I swing back down. Tips on fixing this?

My best friend at the gym wants to quit

What level is your friend? Is she currently doing swim team? I do both competitive gymnastics and swim team and I'm completely happy because everything I want in a sport is in these two awesome sports... Trust me, she'll miss gymnastics if she focuses just on swim.

    Need help! Please read!

I know this isn't going to help but why are you on whatever level you are on if you're missing four skills? You shouldn't be missing any more than one.

Broad Shoulders - Good or Bad?

Look at the 2012 U.S. Olympic gymnastics womens team. Most of the girls have rather broad shoulders, especially Gabby. Nothing to worry about.

WAG Number of hours for level 1?

yeah, that's a bit much... I'm a level 2, and i only get to practice one hour 15 minutes twice per week, plus another 2 hours of open gym. Level (rec team) 3's get an hour and 45 minutes and Level (equivalent to old 4) 3 get 2 hours and 15 minutes, and so on. And yes definitely, at those hour...

    WAG Deductions for hair colour?

Oh goodness, If me or any of my friends had to wear a uniform, I think we'd die. We do have a strictly enforced dress code (no tank tops, shirts have to have a certain neckline length, shorts below where our fingertips hang down, etc.) But I guess that's because we're a private school.... Hair...

    Other people Respecting gymnastics

i know, right?!? Every time i say i do gymnastics, almost always the second question is "Can you do flip?" It gets annoying after a while (actually, it gets annoying after the first time...). Tell your karate friends to watch some elite girls do their routines, and then ask them if they think...

    Other sports

I do the swim team(look at my username) and since my gymnastics isn't really quite that competitive yet, i never have to worry about conflicts. Even when i get into the competitive levels, i still think i could make it work, depending on my level i am with each sport.

    WAG Hypermobility

I'm the same as vbbf's daughter in everything except for skill level and leg flexibility (meaning, while very flexible in my upper body, I'm still strong)

    Gymnastics and the clothing issue

Since I didn't start gymnastics early, I actually have a semi-normal body. For me, I like old navy slim jeans, and shirts are never a problem, except when it clings to my stomach (apparently gymnasts are supposed to have really good abs, but on me they don't show yet).
