So now that the vax is a reality who will be getting.......

Great news! You are saying here that you have looked at the actual studies that make up the basis of these Highwire videos, and that they inform your assertions (spoken as a "facts") that there are "numerous injuries just in the trials" and "the fact that only 1% of vaccine injuries are...

Parents Would you let your kids compete?

Now that you husband is out of his quarantine, based on what my Dr. has told us, I would think that if you are able to very strictly quarantine yourself from them, they should be able to start their 14 day clock from their last contact with you. That is how we did it when one of our family...

Parents What do you consider to be a good score?

I would STRONGLY encourage her to finish the season she committed to, would not let her plan other things during practice time, etc. But I cannot physically force her to do the gymnastics part of it. If I felt that she was in danger of purposely injuring herself, or if she was faking injury, or...

Parents What do you consider to be a good score?

I think that’s a good question, and probably varies based on each kid’s program. In my opinion, it is my child’s commitment, when she and I have talked and she has expressed that she wants to commit to something that has 1.) an explicit defined time period...so there would be an end date to that...

Parents What do you consider to be a good score?

I’m not sure how what I wrote was trying to prove that you’re wrong. Like you said, I agree that both are force...just trying to help decipher why people react differently to the type of force you are describing. If you feel that forcing her to keep YOUR commitment is the right parenting move...

Parents What do you consider to be a good score?

Here’s why I don’t think it’s the same thing...I agree that in both scenarios being discussed, the parent would be “forcing” the child. However, in making them finish the season, the parent is forcing the child to keep the CHILD’S own commitment, that the child made at the beginning of the year...

Parents What do you consider to be a good score?

Ty’s Dad, I agree with you that whether a parent makes their child complete a season, or years after they say they want to be done, there is a certain level of parental pressure and “force”. Of course each parent believes their take is the correct one, and that their reasons are honorable -...

How is it where you are?

I had the same reaction to the word “victim” that you did, skschlag. I see the word was used to describe the child as a “victim” of the school, but I definitely initially read it as the child being victimized by the positive classmate. I have heard many people I know voice reluctance to let...

How is it where you are?

Yes, that is exactly what she is saying. There are privacy boundaries, and the school is drawing a much tighter circle around information than is required by the boundaries. Based on her actual experience, the school has previously notified specific classrooms of health issues present in that...

    WAG Gyms in Colorado?

Xtreme lost their head coach (or prospective new coach) about a year ago, and most of their upper optionals left at that time. I am not as familiar with their current upper level optional coaches or girls. CGI is currently saying they are full for their level 10 and maybe level 9 teams. They...

    WAG Standing Back Tuck

My daughter and some of her teammates did a standing back tuck on beam in L8, but some did a front walkover instead, or just left it out if they weren’t solid. The girls without it scored comparably to those with (if they all stayed on).

    Parents Level 8 skills

Interesting. The l8 team at our prior gym last year was told by the coaches they were getting deducted if they didn’t have the double back or layout full, even though they all were coming out of a giant. So those who did giant layout flyaway would not have taken the deduction?

    Parents Level 8 skills

I believe the UB dismount has to be upgraded to a double back, or a twisting dismount in order to not get dinged for up to level.

Parents Anyone gone back to school in person yet?

Thank you for your hard work as a teacher! I’m curious about something...if a teacher has elected to spread their salary over 12 payments, and in May decides not to return to that position in August, would they receive the pay they were planning on during the summer still? I would hope so, since...

Parents Anyone gone back to school in person yet?

By my quick count (while up early feeding a baby), 25 of your 45 posts were (at least tangentially) in response to someone quoting you. Twenty were not. Many of those 25 were not in response to a question asked of you, but were a reaction to something you didn’t agree with, or someone who didn’t...
