Ok I will post something. My dd who is usually very cautious was working a back 1 1/2 punch front tuck and layout just decided she wanted to try this- and she landed it.
So I guess that is my concern. I like my dds coach but she is young and inexperienced.. I know she has not coached this vault before. I also think she is expecting her to compete this for level 8.
My dd has been working this vault on and off I think the plan is for her to compete it next season (level 8). I really didn’t know anything about this vault so I search this site for previous posts. I am now terrified! Is this vault really that dangerous? My dd was a very successful front...
She scored a 9.2 which I know is not a bad score but competing this vault for the last 2 years she has pretty consistently scored around 9.6 with some 9.7s so the score felt pretty low for her. Just trying to figure out what she did differently.
I was a little hesitant to do that, but you are right I have learned from seeing other people’s posts. If it wasn’t for this site I would probably wondering why she did get a perfect 10 .
Hope this works
My daughter is level 7. She usually scores well on vault but at the last meet scored lower than she has been. I am not sure why? I can’t see where she got the deductions.
Anyone willing to take a look? Not sure if I should try posting it here?
My ds has been competing level 8 but does not know the tech sequences. The coach told him he can compete JD at states, but I am not sure he is old enough? He really doesn’t want to relearn the 7 routines. Does anyone know if he is allowed to compete JD?
For my dd it is the scary beam! She is always held back because of beam fears especially going backwards -walkovers then bhs and now the series. She gets skills then gets scared again. :( She could be a strong level 8 on all the other events but is competing 7 because of beam...
Thanks for your replies. I will try to find a PT for her. As for her gym it is not super competitive but they do like the girls to do well. This was the bars coach I think they were working on toe on? And toe shoot? All the girls do the same bar routines so I guess she has to have these skills...
My 9 year old is currently training level 7 and also working level 8 skills. Coach recently had a talk with me that DD will not be able to go any further with level 8 skills because she is unable to touch her toes. Dd has always struggled with flexibility she only got her good leg split about a...
My dd had the same issue except she is a righty and I guess she was twisting left. The coaches told her she had topic it and twist righty. Luckily they caught it early and it wasn't hard for her to switch.
