How long ago did you tear your hamstring? I would recommend stretching it and getting some therapies (like ultrasound and some massage) to help it heal and break up scar tissue.
Just an idea, what if you try to go slow into the side handstand. If you go in slow and control the cartwheel you might be able to hold the handstand. Make sure that you remember to kick straight over and not to the side. Also you might want to do a lot of them so they become more consistent.

I think that either a split jump or a straddle jump would look good after her split leap. Also if she has trouble with that she could try a a step through to a side leap. I hope that this helps.
