Private’s never hurt, if you can afford them. Just like you said about your DD, mine also got lots of skills during private’s. And coaches enjoy working with a kid one on one. However, we cut back on private’s to only doing them every 2 weeks or less, since with a lot of practice hours and...
I have to agree, I am surprised to say the least. We do have a very strong gym in the area, and awesome coaches. Right now my DD is preparing for the state meet... I will talk to coaches after to see what their plans are exactly. I think that she should do at least a level 4, and then possibly...
Yes, that’s all you need to qualify! To be honest, qualifying is not a big deal. Out of years as a gymnastics parent, I have only seen one girl who did not qualify at first... she ended up qualifying at the last weekend meet before the states. Your coaches have to register the gym, and you as...
Yep, I heard of a parent who submitted daily and the scores never showed up. Unfortunately, mms is flawed and is not considered an official score tracking system. I wish there was something better and centralized and official! :)
Yep! That’s what I did immediately after they posted scores. But should I attach the pdf file itself, or a link to all of the scores? They are divided into levels and groups, I mean should I attach each pdf separately, or just send a link to all? Oh well, I’m just doing both :)
Thank you so much for your replies! And yes, I believe that the coaches did have a printout is the scores, but I wouldn’t bother them.
As an update, they did just post the scores on the meet’s website! Woohoo! Even if they don’t get upload to mymeetscores, I’m still happy.
There were a lot of...
We recently had a USAG sanctioned, official meet with levels 3/4/5. Our girls did great, including my DD, who scored a 38.8 AA, unexpected and her highest AA ever... While we got the awards ceremony, and I know my DD’s scores, the hosting gym did not post results anywhere. Not on their website...
Thank you so much for your replies! I finally understand how it works. I really need to speak to the coach, but I hate bothering him, so many parents catch him after practice with many questions... Personally, I think it would be ideal for my DD to train/compete level 4 next year, and then skip...
I would expect a full year for sure. This competitive season competitions have been non stop, and while we live for competitions, and love them, I cannot imagine having a week off and jumping into the competitions-hotels-schedules bandwagon again lol :)
My daughter’s coach said that he wants let my daughter finish competing level 3, and move her to optionals at level 6 (insert horrified emoji here lol). Our state competes compulsory levels in the fall, and optionals in the spring. My question is... will she have to score out of level 4 AND...
Thank you so much for all of your replies! Now I know why forums exist... you really gave me a different outlook on the issue, and I feel a lot better.
I started paying more attention, and I do see that my DD likes to keep Gymnastics and other aspects of her life separately. I also realized...
Don’t say that she won’t win! You just never know, especially your DD being so young. They give out medals for all 4 events to the top 50% +1 (so if there are 15 in age category, 8 will get medals). Every girl gets a medal for All Around, and depending on the meet, the first 3 around places will...
