Parents Need a current level 3 video please

Hi, my just turned 6 year old is competing in her first meet tomorrow level 3. She wants to watch some videos of other level 3 kids, but all the ones that I can find have last seasons skills. Anyone have a current video? I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Parents 5 y/o need a break? Or not?

I agree. I told my husband that I think she will excel at any sport as long as her heart is in it. I think we are going to just take it a day/week at a time. Vacation next week should help too. Thanks.

Parents 5 y/o need a break? Or not?

No, 1/2 day is not an option. But today, Saturday, she is down in the basement practicing her beam and bar routine. See, I think she still really loves gymnastics, just wants to come home after school and relax more . I made some changes for the next week with my other little gymie (who had...

Parents 5 y/o need a break? Or not?

I agree, it is hard for a 5 y/o to articulate what they are feeling. One minute she says she wants to stop, the next minute she says she just wants to do the meet. Then she says it is just too easy. Then it is the coach. I don't think she knows what it is. Thanks.

Parents 5 y/o need a break? Or not?

She only trains 2x/week 2 hours each time. She has been doing this since she got moved to L3 in July. She is a little resistant to change, so maybe it is as you said, just too much change too soon. I too would like to keep her in the meets (only 2). I think the meets are going to be a big...

Parents 5 y/o need a break? Or not?

Hi all, I have a 5 y/o level 3 gymnast who just started kindergarten (full day). She is certainly tired from the whole kindergarten thing, and I think this is the reason for her sudden change of heart with gymnastics. She use to love gymnastics, now she is saying she doesn't like it all and...

Parents Level 3 dd afraid to compete?

Thank you all for your ideas, etc. Well, we had to make a decision as meet fees were due last week. My dd told me, without me asking her, that she would like to try and compete in a few meets at the end of the year. So, I signed her up for 2, one in Nov, one in Dec. That way I figure she has...

Parents Level 3 dd afraid to compete?

Just wondering if any of you have been in this situation. I have a 5 y/o that is on level 3 now. She loves gymnastics, is excited to wear her new competition leo, but states she doesn't want to compete, but then later she'll say okay she'll compete later on. I don't want to push her if she is...

    Parents rec vs team

My 5 y/o dd loves gymnastics and is doing really well (she just got her pullover this week - yeah - she was sooo excited!!!!!) The problem is the current gym we are at is just starting a L3 team and want older girls on it. One coach at least said that, the other one said it is based on skill...

    Parents Newbie Gym Mom

Hi, I myself am also new to the world of gymnastics. I have a 5 y/o and 3 y/o girl who love gymnastics. My 5 y/o does gymnastics day and night. She is in 2 rec classes right now, but may go to preteam. I have found just "lurking" on this sight is helpful. I just am new to all that...

Parents ? re: 5 y/o intimitated by "big girls"?

Thanks for the advice. Well tonight my dd had the class with the older girls and she did great. Had a blast and can't wait for more. She did comment on the way to the gym that she is "getting use to those bigger girls and not going to let them skip her in line" she also hinted at exactly what...

okay, so I don't know how to edit my post - but realized I spelled intimidated wrong. Hopefully you know what I meant. I guess that is what happens when I'm up all night with a baby. Oops!

Parents ? re: 5 y/o intimitated by "big girls"?

Hi, thanks for the advice. I think I will try and see if I can talk a bigger girl into keeping an eye out for my little one. It's funny, I know she loves gymnastics - and she likes big girls, but I guess she just is nervous/initimated with all the big girls (the majority of the girls I think...

Parents ? re: 5 y/o intimitated by "big girls"?

Hi all, I have a 5 y/o that just loves gymnastics. She does gymnastics all over the house, all the time. I have her in a rec class 2x/week (each class 1 hour 15 minutes). The problem I am having is in the one class she is by far the youngest kid. She is catching on really fast, but I am...

    cartwheel on beam

thanks all for the advice. I really want her to be safe, and not start a bad habit either. I just can't get her to stop doing gymnastics on our furniture - which is one reason mt husband built the beam-it rests on the ground. I will mention to her coach her strong desire to do a cartwheel on...
