I started with straddle, but now I am doing pike, I feel like it takes less effort to get my feet to the bars this way. Maybe that is because I have one less step to worry about :)
So it has come time to get new grips. Has anyone used the tru grip 3 finger grips? I find them interesting, and want to try, but I'm curious if anyone has used them yet. Thanks
I'm an adult gymnast too, 33. Started about 6 years, but due to injuries and pregnancy, I've actually been about 3.5-4 years (makes me feel so much better lol). Compete AAU xcel ATM :) Make sure you join the FB page, it's a great resource and encouragement!
After having a kid in January, I'm getting back into the full swing again. I started vaulting last week-gym just got an aero board! I'm in vault heaven. Just working handstand flat backs until I get some strength back. Also working simple stuff like handstands, FHS, cartwheels, to prep on beam...

I'm guessing it's because you're letting your body fall back after you get to the bar, therefore not completely finishing the skill. You want to feel as though you're going to do another mill circle, even practice doing multiples (at least they're fun!) and make sure you're shifting your wrists...
You don't want to practice either without supervision, but you need to be able to go into a bridge with fully straight arms and not hit your head when you land. You need to have sufficient ab strength to be able to pull your legs over properly as well. So lots of pushups, chinups, v-ups are...
Was it just me or did it look like she had tights on? Or was it a brace on her ankle? Granted that gold did nothing for her skin tone, but I couldn't tell if she had tights or not!
Mill circles took me about 3 weeks to get. Vertical handstand on beam I still can't do! But it's because of my ridiculous shoulder flexibility, and I'm afraid to go all the way up (I can do it easily with a VERY light spot lol)
