I get you! To me gymnastics is a drug. It is addictive. Both as an athlete and Coach. Now as a parent of 2 I worry terribly about my kids wanting to do the sport. My daughter is so much like me and you can see the gymnast in her. Fortunately we found a family oriented Jiu Jitsu gym that only...
Maybe I didn't explain myself properly. The worry is she was high level working for College slash Olympics. Now that is over. She was relying on gymnastics to get her to the College desired but now that's not happening and supposedly didn't have any potential fallbacks. My worry is not for other...
Wow thank you for commenting here! On the subject of nurse practitioner that is fantastic! We Chiropractors love nurse practitioners. They really help bring the world of medicine and health together. Best of luck to everyone! If yall ever have any questions on the matter, contact me I know a few...
Good afternoon,
I was recently in a short discussion with a doctor and an athlete. This athlete was very young and already having to give up the sport they had dedicated so much time and money into. Career ending injuries don't surprise me however, what came after was the athlete had no other...
Well I really hope yall can find a chiropractor who is more affordable and trustworthy. Let me know if you need help.
When I was in the Marine Corps I desperately needed a Chiro's help. It wasn't until I went to Parker University in Dallas Texas that I received my first foot adjustment and it...
Wow thank you for that. Sadly this is not the first time I have heard of this experience. Did this Chiropractor ever talk to you about the different techniques that do not require popping the neck? Or try to use any adjustable instruments? Did this doctor ever do any rehabilitation exercises for...
I grew up without a pit for a while but as I advanced a pit was very necessary. I would say a pit is a must if over the bar release skills have begun and if you are doing a decent dismount such as Twisting doubles etcetera. Other than that stay away from crunches and have patience met with...
Strap bar is nice for repetition. I don't for a minute think it's that useful except for... kind-of getting a feel for the technique. The issue with bars is getting the gymnast to feel comfortable holding and swinging. once the confidence/trust of the hands are met... the gymnast should not have...
Thank you for your response. I definitely agree with being picky, you should be. A bad experience not only can be physically detrimental but emotionally hindering too. It has also been nerve wrecking with the amount of Doctor scandals out there. Very heart breaking. Now me being a father of a 4...
It has been a good long time since I've been on this forum. I appreciate all of you who had previously given me advice on schooling. But it turned out I had a parent of one of my gymnasts talk about their Chiropractor. I knew the medical and surgical world was not for me. I also knew by...
I'm not expected to help by anyone I am really good friends with this family and I took it upon myself to help in anyway I could.
Thank you for your help
No offense taken at all.
Yes they were already wanting to move but the mother was just worries she may be missing some important steps that we couldn't think of.
Well guys it's not really that important for me to mention why.... but they already know how the season is going to turn out,
All I'm asking for is some questions they should ask the gym.
They already know the coach from way back and they have talked to them before.
They just want to make sure...
It's a local gym.
The gym will supposedly put her in a temporary class then after state they will let her come on team.
The parent is concerned that she may have not asked the right questions so I'm basically just trying to help the transition be smoother with no missed corners.
I have a parent that is switching gyms and she wanted to know if there are any questions she should ask the other gym before enrolling.
Her daughter is level 7 very talented and my main concern is they are willing to move and not compete state. Would you say that is okay to do?
If you could...
