Region 7 here...even with many precautions put in place, our gym had a COVID outbreak in early Nov (athletes/coaches). It felt like it was just a matter of time. We're on a gym break for a few weeks with Zoom practices in full-swing. Last we heard they were considering different options for...
Yes...I think you're correct. I haven't kept up much with which types of businesses would fall under each phase of re-opening. We're just waiting on word from the gym to let us know the next step to a potential return in the summer. I have a feeling that once the owner gets the go ahead, team...
I believe phase 1 begins Friday. We haven’t heard definitively yet from the gym owner what the plan will be come 7/1. Currently they’ve doing online practices.
We've being doing virtual (6 hrs/wk) for 3 weeks. Our gym is looking at starting 6/1 for in-gym (1.5 hrs/week) starting with groups of 10. Kids/coaches will wear masks and stay 6 ft apart. Also, we're not going to be registering for any meets in the fall. Our season for all levels will begin...
Ugh...sorry to hear that. I hope you got better news this time. My DD finally came back after 10 weeks of no upper body activity on 12/23. Our 2nd opinion ortho said that it was healed, should come back slow, and might have to just fight though some pain. So far so good. She's taping both...
@Jessleemom I hope your DD's recovery is progressing well. Just curious, but why is your DD out for the season if she's only in a cast for 3 wks and splint for 3 wks? Our season starts in Nov and ends in March. My DD had dorsal wrist impingement over the summer. Basically overuse. A soon as...
Thank you for sharing. This is really interesting. The coaches do seem to understand (at least the younger one does) that DD can be up and down. I feel like they realize she has potential so they are willing to work with her and find temporary solutions like last night changing a tumbling pass...
Thank you. I didn't mean to imply we don't talk about struggles (although I guess I did say that). We have very open conversations. What I meant to say was that I don't over focus on a gymnastics-related challenge as I don't want to add additional pressure that she already feels in a highly...
Thank you. Also excellent advice. It seems like she does great building up to the meet and executes, but right after the meet, she has to start over again.
Thank you. This is great advice. We're not big on discussing the stuggles...as I've learned to just say it will all be okay or you're probably growing. Last night was the first time she mentioned quitting so it kind of threw me off.
Hello CB friends. It’s been some time since I last posted but today I’m feeling a need to vent and maybe get some advice. DD is a 10 yo Level 6 that this season has scored in the 37/38 range. She’s very close to moving to 7 but coach wants her to contoue to polish before moving up. She’s at a...
