    Parents Switching Gyms

Ditto! Congrats on your daughter's move, and just as the above post my daughter switched gyms this year and is much happier. And, so am I because the tuition and fees are less!

Parents Do You Consider This Fair?

DDs old gym does this. Level 4s were split into two groups with one group going shorter hours and only being allowed to compete in local league meets. The group that went 1.5 hours more per week competed in USAG meets. At level 5 they have two groups also. Both groups practice the same...

When will she get her kip???? Very, very funny!

I loved it!! I just sent it to my DD's coaches. Too, too funny!! I love the xtranormal videos! We are homeschoolers and there's also a funny one for any other homeschoolers out there called "How will you socialize the children?" with the same characters.

Parents I know gymnasts are small..but

My DD is about the same height as yours. She's 10 years old and 52 inches. That puts her in the 14th percentile for height. Her predicted height is 5'0" (which is my height)!

Parents I love new things!!!! What new things are your DD's working on?

DD just switched gyms and today was her first practice so everything is new to her! Lots of conditioning and tumbling today. On bars she's working on free hip circles and cast handstands. She'll compete level 5 this season.

    Parents Cleaning the Gym?

Interesting topic...at DD's gym parents don't clean the bathrooms regularly. Coaches empty the trash in the bathrooms daily as part of their jobs, and during home meets, one of the parents' jobs is "bathroom monitor." I've personally never volunteered for that job!

    Parents Privates

DD (L4) had her first private a few weeks ago before her first meet to also work on form on floor and beam. It helped immensely. She loved it and wants to do another. As a deterrent, I told her that she had to earn half of the cost of the private...and she has! She really wants to work on...

    Looks like H1N1 !

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for your DD. H1N1 hit 4 out of 5 of our family members (everyone except DH) this past spring. DD and younger DS are also asthmatic so it took them a few days more to recover than the rest of us. We had to keep them on the nebulizer until the coughing...

    Parents ROBHS Training

I agree with everyone else. It is an odd situation, and you are right to think so. It will be a shame for all of the girls to lose .6 right off the bat for not having their BHS because they are not being taught the skill. And, it is shameful that parents who are already paying for 10 hours a...

    Alicia Sacramone is Back!

I love Alicia's tenacity, but it seems a little "Michelle Kwan-ish" to me!

    Hi. .. a newbie Mom

Hi. My 6-yr old daughter is just getting started in gymnastics. She loves the sport, and is always making up routines at home. She has a lot of determination and flexibility, but lacks in strength. Unlike some of the other gym moms at my daugther's gym, I am a realist! I have no dreams of...
