We went in 2021, my daughter is 10 now so shen would have been around your daughters age when we went. We LOVED it!! We didn't do any add-ons so I can't speak to those. But the show we went to (Duluth, GA) was FULL of little gymnasts. It was a lot of fun for us. I will say that I had read that...
So my brother is a musician that has lots of equipment and feels he is setup to do this. I was hoping to hear from people that have done it.
I know nothing about this!!
Can I bump this thread? This past weekend was the last skills testing, I believe. I know we are anxiously waiting to hear who will be invited to National Testing!!
I agree with the others, levels 5 & 6 are almost the same. Personally I think level 5 is important because it makes the gymnast do the tougher details that create a good foundation for higher levels and bigger skills. In my opinion, level 6 is so similar to level 5 except the routines can be...
Changing gyms is hard in the best situations, relationships are built throughout a gymnastics journey and walking away from those relationships is hard in many way... even when there isn't added drama.
I would recomend that you and your daughter give yourselves grace. Acknowledge the hard...
We went through something similar with my daughter a year ago... but for us it was more about good technical coaching and my daughter being unable to reach her goals at that gym than safety.
For us, I just had an open honest disscussion with my daughter about how it would be very hard for her...

Just looking through old posts and came across a post like this for last year. I thought it would be fun as we go into 2025 to discuss your child's (or your own if you are the gymnast) goals for the upcoming year and if they (or you) met or exceeded this years goals.
My daughter hopes to make...
We changed gyms about 8 months ago. My now 9yr old did about the equivalent of half a season as a level 5 with the old gym between Jan-Mar. The new gym had her compete as a level 5 again so they could get some of those foundational skills a little more techinally sound. WOW! The improvement we...
The 2022-2023 season is already over. All the talk about skills testing is refferring to the current season. The 2023-2024 season is requiring skills testing.
I think you are all saying the same thing but with different wording. The routines for TOPS skills testing do look like new routines so I can see how TOPS skills testing feels like competing.
