Does anyone know how a gymnast qualifies to USAG Level 9 easterns from their regional meet? Can they go for events specialist or only AA?

My daughter is a level 9 gymnast. Lately she rips every time she is on bars. It seems to be holding her back. She thinks maybe her grips are not the right fit. She wants to try buckle grips. Any thoughts? She's always had Velcro type.

Thanks for reaffirming. The trouble is the girls spend so much time worrying about their butt hanging out that they can't focus on routines. I will talk to owner about switching.

Our new team leos this year are alpha factor. We have had gk for the past several years. These new ones have had stitching come out on several of our optional girls and they ride up. Has anyone else had trouble? Thinking about new Leo's for optionals even though they only wore these for one...

Both my girls go and love it. My 16 year old is strongly considering that as career choice as well perhaps sticking with sports chiropractic.

This makes sense. I can see petitioning to regionals if you are too injured to perform at state meet. However, if you are well enough to perform then you shouldn't be able to petition.

We had a 58 year old compete level 8 a few years ago I think. More power to them!

Also found out that she will get the first place trophy which is probably three feet tall! Biggest of any we have ever seen. She competed with our level 8's due to coaching restraints but her scores were calculated with the level 9s the next day. Turns out there were only two girls in age...
