    Parents Xcel Bronze Requirements??

My preteam gymnast is going to an open tryout for Xcel bronze at a different gym then she currently attends. This tryout consists of her attending the 3 hr Xcel bronze class and I am full of anxiety! She loves gymnastics, she has most of the Xcel skills if I'm not mistaken (except for backhip...

Parents Gym types and sore wrists

Sorry, I have to seperate questions. My 7.5 yr old is on preteam and on track to start Xcel bronze in the spring. She currently attends 4 hrs of gym/Wk and practices maybe 1-2 hrs/week at home. Question 1 is regarding gym types. Admittedly I don't know much about gym but I'm concerned with how...

Parents Didn't make Bronze, so frustrated

My 7 yr old started preteam in Aug. This was after she fell off beam and broke her elbow in May, developing a huge fear of falling. She wouldn't get on the high beam without a panic attack. I know I have parent goggles on, but she's done SO MUCH this year. Shes really been working on her form...

    Parents TOPS??

I think you're right! The more I look into things, the more I think it's comparable to a Pre-Team. Is it common for Pre-Team to only train 2hrs/WK? That's what she currently trains in rec. And the Pre-Team girls look a lot further ahead than she does

    Parents TOPS??

So...my 6 yr old got invited to join our gyms TOPS program. But, I'm so confused as it's not like what I read about online lol. It's 2hrs/WK and it's for 5-7yr olds. The coach said it's the route kids take prior to a competitive route and could lead to a team invite next summer. Is this what...

Parents Joining a team with no natural talent??

Thank you everyone! I don't want to sell my daughter short in the least, I just also don't want to set her up for failure or put her in a position where she feels inadequate and unable to keep up. I will talk to her gym about options and see what we can work out. I appreciate it!

Parents Joining a team with no natural talent??

I'll be the first to admit I know little about gymnastics, so, forgive me. My 6 yr old attends 2 hrs of a kinder class weekly. She also does 1hr of tumbling/ WK. I mean this in the most loving way possible - she has zero natural talent She runs like Phoebe from Friends, she is not naturally...

    Parents Etsy Ribbons?

Ooh, a goal board with stickers or something is a great idea! I never thought of that, thanks! She just turned 6, she is recreational, will likely never be competitive, but she loves it and I just want to help keep her interested and working towards improvement. I know she will work as hard, or...

    Parents Etsy Ribbons?

I'm looking for something for my 6 yr old to keep her working towards goals. She's very award focused - like getting ribbons at swim for "backfloat", moving up levels, etc. I'm looking for something similar I can give her for gymnastics, like "backbend", "splits" whatever, for when she achieves...

    Parents First injury

My 6 yr old fell off the beam last night and got a supracondylar fracture. She's having surgery today to place pins and she will be out for 2 months...if she ever goes back. I know everything is still fresh in her mind and she's in pain, but she has stated multiple times she will not be going...

    Parents Competitive vs Recreational

My almost 6 year old daughter has been taking recreational gymnastics for almost 2 years. She started attending twice a week in December and also attends a weekly tumble class. This kids heart is in it...but, she has her parents athletic ability She's tall, clutzy and shy. We originally...
