    We use toe socks, just cut the tips of the toes off. My DD loves being able to have all sorts of funky colours.     If your gym opened Monday would you send your child?

    I would send mine back now, but my state in Australia only has 43 current active cases. School went back today. As a family we are also quite low risk.

    What's your best guess at what next season will look like?

    Western Australia has cancelled all comps for the rest of the year. Our level 7-10's managed to get one comp in before everything closed. With our schools open from Wednesday, I'm hopeful that sports will follow soon.

    WAG Being in two different clubs for different disciplines

    There was a girl at DD's club that did this. She competes level 10 in WAG at her club and competes DMT for another club. She's even competed internationally in DMT.

    Parents Miserable coach is owner’s daughter

    We had a very similar situation recently. We left. Others over the years had tried to talk to the coach and also the owner but nothing ever changed. A month into changing gyms and my DD is so much happier now.

    WAG How many optionals are on your team?

    We have 6. 3 lvl 8's, 1 lvl 9 and 2 lvl 10's. Some teams seem huge to me! I know gymnastics in Australia is a lot smaller than the US but there are only about 6 lvl 10's in my state.

    Parents Does your team have annual try outs?

    Current gym hold open tryouts once a year towards the end of the year and training group/level placements are determined from that. Current team members find out near the end of the season what level they will be in for the following year, no need to try out again. The previous gym DD was at...

    Parents Recording your own child at the gym

    Strictly no videos/photos at all. Viewing is permitted for the first and last 15 mins of training only and anyone caught breaking the rules is asked to leave the viewing area/delete any footage.

    WAG Evaluations and how often?

    I think she's amazing but I'm a bit biased. To be honest I think I'm more surprised than anybody that she was accepted and we just take it one term at a time. Yep, this is where DD is.
