My daughter competes in NZ and is Step 2, so whilst she isn’t doing lots of amazing skills compared to lots of kids her age in the US she has just had her third comp this year and has got her second qualifying score to move to Step 3. She has had a real challenge with her bar with getting the back hip circle and undershoot connecting and today was the first time she did it in a comp- improved her score from 10.966 to a 12.500. She also got a 13.900 on vault, tying for a Bronze with one of her teammates. It was her 10th birthday yesterday and so she has had an awesome weekend. I’m so proud of her perseverance when it comes to Gymnastics and her maturity as she tackles skills that are harder for her.
