My kid was always the crazy one. When she was 7yo she asked her coach if she could do double backs on the tumble track. She's now a level 9 and is always looking to do that next big skill. Luckily, she has had enough crashes to know that she shouldn't throw a skill if it doesn't feel right...
I don’t understand the negativity about L5 girls who have L7 skills.
In many instances, they compete L4 states, then have to train L5 &L7 in just a few months. In most cases, these girls need to be competition season ready by October(ish). Which happens to be in the middle of the compulsory...
Compulsory season is the time is truly do not watch my DD at gym. I don’t watch a few minutes after drop off. I don’t come 30 minutes early to watch a little of the last event.
How many more years of this music is there?
The one that is the most difficult for her is front giants. Can can get it over on the pit bar, but it's not pretty or consistent!
The most difficult is her 3/2 and 2/1 forward twisting (work in progress)
If I'm ever in the parent area..... I'm more chatting with moms than actually watching.
Apparently, I'm not smiling & bubbly, and she thinks I'm mad at her! When, in reality, I wasn't even watching! She can't even tell me why she thinks I would be mad! Just something they project if they're...
I am fortunate enough that I live fairly close to the gym. There is no commute issue. Sometimes, I eat at home with my son if we're extra hungry or DD has a late night practice. At this point, I may bring her something to eat in the car, but that's more of a treat for her. ;)
Otherwise, we eat...
Hahaha! I can't imagine having to sit through more than one awards session per meet. They are AWFUL.
As parents, we are not paying their food/travel for them to be our kids' cheerleaders. We are paying them to coach. Girls cannot go out on the floor without a coach. They can go to awards...
Idk. I'm on the "I don't get it side" too. I don't find these photos lude or inappropriate. I quite like the picture on the magazine.
However, I'm also in one of those areas where it's really hot in the summer and the clothing is miniature!
You definitely don't need to spend that kind of money. Also, warmups can be used for several years. DDs jacket has lasted 3 years and definitely has a few more years to go! Leggings have to be replaced as she grows out of them, but it's not a big deal.
