Hey guys! So for school we have to do a project on creativity. This was our only guideline for the project, so I picked "Creativity in Gymnastics" as my topic. So here's the big question... How do you show creativity in gymnastics? Answer the poll and explain if you have the time. Thanks!:)
@2girls_gymmomma I have the skinny UA headbands and sometimes they work some times they don't. I also have 2 Lululemon ones, which unfortunately don't even stay in my hair during school.
Has anyone seen a headband like this? It's elastic and has silicone and has a ribbon on the seam. There is not brand on it. I got it as the single from a gift bag. It's my favourite headband and I want to find another one as it is the only one that doesn't fall out of my hair during gym.
Thanks...
I am 45 minutes from downtown LA. There are a lot of good gyms in LA try LA School of Gymnastics, Broadway Gymnastics or All Olympia Gymnastics (Where McKayla Maroney trains; they also have two locations). There is also Gym Max in Costa Mesa (Kyla Ross's gym she still trains there). UCLA also...
It is pretty cheap compared to others, but you also have to factor in travel (if you live far). I go to a college summer camp for a weekend and it is around $595.
Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a certain number of seconds between the beep and the music start and when the music starts being timed. Is the timing right after the beep or when the actual song starts? I've also read that the time starts when the gymnast starts moving.
Thank you both for your replies :) but it's not that my fingers are hurting, it's more of the muscles (?) in between my index finger and thumb, like the meaty part.
Last week my coach said I should get grips and I ordered some and wore them to practice yesterday. I am an old level 6 and now in Xcel and have never used grips. When I woke up the next morning the space between my thumb and index finger was really sore and throbbing. My wrist was also sore...
If your planning to teach high level bar skills I would have a bar with a pit underneath and a seat of un evan bars over a pit. The UCLA gym has this and its really cool.
At my gym I don't like how one side of the floor is up against a wall with mirrors because if you screw up your pass you...
I went to UCLA camp last summer and it was great. It's only a weekend and I stayed overnight. The UCLA gymnasts and alums (some from UC Davis also come) coach.
They put you in counsellor groups and training groups. The training groups are pretty self explanatory, they're training groups. The...
My friend joined dive after a back injury and gym transferred well for her.
I joined my school's dive as a PE credit and it didn't work well, the hurdle is different (which I mixed up in gym/dive).
The only "shapes" that you use for dive are tuck, handstand, pike.
Going in head first was at...
In our area (greater L.A.) we have a programme called Big Fun. It's something where specialists come to your gym and work with the special needs kid in a one on one. They do different activities depending on how functional the child or things that need to be worked on such as fine motor skills...
I go to a college-high school Hybrid school. For the high school part I go from 1-5:30 pm M,T,W,TH and from 9-12 am Fridays, these hours include my English and history as well as a 1/2 hour break. FOr math and language we take it at the college whenever we want and it counts for college and high...
Before workout: 1/2 PB&J and a fruit, around 15-30 mins before you go.
After: The second half of the PB&J and 1 cup chocolate milk
This seems to work for me and my 1 hr. workouts. Also nuts are a good snack for whenever you're hungry.
