Parents Ice pack usage during practice

Our coaches stop them from continuing if they need ice. It's a bad idea to ice, then do another run through because now you're working with cold muscles. If they need ice during practice it's time to stop for the day.

    NCAA Xcels in NCAA/NCGA?

I personally know of Xcels that are on Acrobatics and Tumbling teams -and they run the gamut from D1-D3. So there's that option as well.

    NCAA Leotards

We watched on tv last night and I’m so tired of it looking like they just refuse to make Leo’s that fit these girls. Their Leo’s do not need to be thongs. It’s so ridiculous.

NCAA Xcel to college bound (Division 3)

Why not look at Acrobatics and Tumbling? You could be D1 if that matters to you, all the way through D3 and there's even an NAIA program. It's growing and there's money in it for college.

Parents Transitioning to cheer for college

I just have to jump in and say there are some AMAZING A&T schools out there. Like any sport, there are a bunch of smaller schools, but small doesn't make them bad. It really just comes down to what sort of college experience would your daughter be interested in. Not to mention it's a growing...

    WAG Best recruiting advice

Find a school that your child likes INDPENDENT of gymnastics. "broken leg test" as in if they break their leg at practice and aren't competing - are they still somewhere they want to be? If not, no amount of money is worth it.

    Coaches Collegiate Trampoline and Tumbling

What about cheer? LOTS of tumbling options for boys in cheer.

    Coaches Collegiate Trampoline and Tumbling

You should direct them towards Acrobatics and Tumbling if they are strong tumblers. Lots of money and opportunity. I've never seen a collegiate T&T team.

NCAA Acrobatics and Tumbling Schedule out

The schedule for collegiate A&T is now out. Don't discount this option as a way for your gymnast to compete in college! https://thencata.org/calendar.aspx?path=acrobaticstumbling

    NCAA after high school..?

The only way to know what A&T schools want from you is to reach out. Each has a different list of skills they want you to have. Go to the websites and fill out their interested athlete recruiting form and reach out and follow schools on Instagram

    Parents Favorite meet gift?

To clarify, most of our ARTISTIC meets. Acro and T&T meets come with nothing lol.

    Parents Favorite meet gift?

Another vote against the drawstring bags. We had leos at only two meets in the past 10 years. But they were both loved. Most of our meets come with a free t shirt from the vendor or $15 towards an upgraded shirt.

Parents Advice to newer gym parents on... medals!

Most of ours have stickers from the meet saying all this info on the back. But honestly unless it was a huge deal meet or a particular goal I probably wouldn't have done this.

    Parents after high school??

Just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean they aren't good. Remember there are way more smaller schools than there are big ones that everyone has heard of.

    Parents High school gymnastics teams

There are some. The norcalgym page has a high school section. There's at least 11 teams. But given how big NorCal is, that isn't many. Club is primarily the thing here - most public schools won't even teach gymnastics in PE because of the equipment and the risk.

NCAA D3 gymnastics or D1 Acro and tumbling

This is a question for both coaches. It is highly unlikely she will be able to wait until May 1st to commit. They need to continue recruiting if she does not decide to go there. She NEEDS to ask that question if she hasn't already. One coach told my daughter once an offer is out there she...

Parents Oy Safe Sport for my 17 yr old

I am a mom of a 17 year old gymnast who will turn 18 during the competition season. She then becomes any regular adult who has adult responsibilities. Yes, it's an arbitrary line. But it's a LEGAL one. As a LEGAL ADULT, if she lets say, starts dating a teammate who is under 18, that carries...

Parents Oy Safe Sport for my 17 yr old

This is where you're wrong. LEGALLY, as an adult, she would be seen as both having power and influence over younger members of the gym.
