J used to keep fun size payday bars in her bag for emergencies when she needed an extra boost when she was young. I also used to put a little apple juice in her water bottle for practice or make apple juice ice.
And until we stop complaining about ‘failed’ efforts and start offering suggestions for improvement, it never will be, but for now, this is what we got….And it is a SafeSport violation for anyone to complete the training for someone else, please report so we can make the sport safer.
If one of her minor teammates tells her about a(n) SA after her 18th birthday, she is considered an ‘Outcry’ witness and is legally obligated to report the assault/abuse under US law. This obligation is not limited to her gymnastics teammates.
I’m an adult and have ADHD….I get spacey and careless as my meds start to wear off, especially if I forget to take my 2nd dose. Usually by the time I remember it’s too late….as a chemist, I have the scars to prove it’s just not safe to work in that state of mind.
IF things are the way you described, IMO this is the owner and coach’s problem, not yours. Ignorance is bliss. Drop her at the door and pick her up when practice is over. Stay away. If you’re complaining or acknowledging these behaviors, it may come off as boastful to others. As a parent...
This is one of the reasons Josc chose Arkansas. This is where she felt she would be most supported, not just by the coaches, but the entire university, especially the AD.
Or just people in general, there were literally threads about how Josc was too fat to be a gymnast after Egypt…….
Come on, now, you’ve been around the block long enough to know mediocre gymnasts can have exceptional performances and exceptional gymnasts can have mediocre performances.
My dd is an elite gymnast and I’ve seen my fair share of injuries at the gym, but nothing like you’re describing. Mostly twinges and tweaks. There have been a few that have ended up with a stress fracture here and there, but absolutely nothing like that….
No, I don’t have a problem with any of these girls trying for spots and competing. I’m just saying that there’s more to it than being ‘better’. I used to be naive, I’m just not anymore, but that doesn’t mean that I think anyone shouldn’t shoot their shot. And it wouldn’t matter what I thought...
There’s barely room for anyone, lol; however, things are not always as they seem. ‘Better’ is such a subjective term. For example, let’s say you have two gymnasts that tie for a position on a team: one has a higher D score and the other a higher E score, but exactly the same overall score for...
Awwww, thank you! I definitely would not have made it through to where we are now without my CB family! Just FTR though, lol, yes, that is her goal! And I personally feel like it’s a long shot in the dark for all of them, except Simone. But I do feel like Josc’s chances have improved...
Don’t spend a bunch of money on private lessons. Instead, find a really good PT or massage therapist!!! Don’t buy equipment for your home. Instead, invest in recovery equipment!!!
We were at a gym for over 10 years and I’ll admit there were times when another gymnast left that I took it more personally than I probably should have. I’m not the type of person who is disrespectful or rude to anyone, but I did change my perspectives on those relationships from thoughtful...
Hey, hey everyone! Thought I’d drop in to say hello and congrats to some old friends! We have all been here sooooo long. I really do feel old. Josc starts her senior year of HS as well. She’s headed to Arkansas after that. The last year has been a huge whirlwind for Josc. We moved to...
