The first time through CoachP's conditioning, my girls cried!!! Yes, level 9 and 10 and they cried!!! Now that they've been through it a couple of times, it is still a challenge, but getting better. They are doing CoachP's stretching and abs in the morning,Gotham Gymnastics conditioning in...

    WAG Recruiting instagram

I would say Freshman year is a good time to start too. Depending on what division a gymnast is interested in, would dictate what level to start at. For example, most division 1 schools would be looking at girls who have 10.0 or 10.1 start values and level 10 skills.

    WAG Pros of Being Tall

I agree...never insurmountable, at any level, especially for a gymnast!!! Based on my experience, she will go as far as her grit will take her. There have been so many days, weeks, and even seasons of frustration for having to tweek skills and adjust quipment in order to maximize my Dd's tall...

    Parents Excited about the season

This year I am most excited to see my oldest daughter's new floor routine! It is her fist year at level 10 and she is coming off of a "most entertaining" floor routine win from level 9 Easterns last season. She pours her heart and soul into floor and I am amazed every time I watch her...

    WAG Vagus Nerve

My DD has been triggering a vagus nerve response while doing some of her tumbling passes and vault. It is especially bad punching out of front layouts. She says it is really scary because she starts to feel like its hard to breathe then her heart starts beating hard and her throat gets tight...

    WAG Floor music fiasco.

I really wanted my daughter to use this one, but she chose another piece. It is beautiful and intriguing at the same time with no violin. It would have to be rearranged/cut in order to use it for a floor routine.

    WAG Changing gyms for regionals?

I have seen this done before, but I would not recommend it. Many of the quality gyms in our area would not let this happen because Regionals are taken very seriously, especially at the upper levels.

Parents Has anyone's petition into Regionals evern been rejected?

My oldest DD has had to petition to Regionals twice now and both times her petitions have been accepted. Last year she had back spasms and a note from her physical therapist was accepted. This year it is a concussion and she was just cleared yesterday by her doctor. This year we were told...

WAG Good LONG video talk about mental blocks, fears, anxiety etc

Thank you for posting this! I watched it with both of my girls and it opened up a lot of issues for discussion that would have been swept under the rug. Our favorite parts were building your brick wall one "perfect" brick at a time, staying in your own bubble, and using mental choreography to...

    WAG Beam consistency

As far as beam skills go, I would say that a gymnast who can hit a skill 3/5 times at practice consistently is ready to compete that skill. Obviously the more hit skills out of 5, the better chance they have of hitting that skill in competition. As far as mastery, that is a different story. I...
