    Gymnasts Flyaway mental block

While your gym may require it, a flyaway is not required for platinum and there are other allowable bar dismounts (underswing and toe circle being the ones I see most often). Might be worth talking to your coaches to see if they'd consider an alternative.

    Parents DP or Xcel?

As a parent I LOVE the Xcel program. My Dd was hesitant to move over to xcel at first, and her gym said if she had the skills she could go back to dp later if she wanted. 2 weeks after switching she did not want to ever go back to dp. She's been very successful competition wise in xcel, while...

    Parents Beam Queen Age Limit

My daughter has done BQBC 3x. She and I both feel that the coaches there favor the younger, cuter girls. The last time she went she was 12, and she didn't want to attend the following year because of this.

    Parents Region 2 gyms

I don't know anything about the gym itself, but we've competed against Omega and they seem to do well. They are in Beaverton, just outside of Portland.

Anon Advice about moving a gymnast senior year

If you do, I would use a vague-ish explanation that doesn't directly "put down" the gym. Something like "her current gym is not a healthy environment for her."

I think Buckeye and Chows before that.

    WAG Questions Xcel platinum

You need a flight skill OR 2 connected acro (series). Flight skill isn't required until diamond.

    WAG Questions Xcel platinum

You don't need a flyaway, just a dismount from high bar.

    Parents Competition season timing?

It depends on the state. Our comp season for all levels has always been spring with a maybe one meet in November or December. States has always been end of March/beginning of April.

    Web Server Returning Error Message

Still getting the error. Only on my phone, not on my laptop. Works if I go to incognito and log in on my phone as the previous poster said they tried. I have no idea what is up (but I am in WA)!

    Web Server Returning Error Message

When I try to go to chalkbucket on my phone, I get an error page that says "Web Server Returning an Unknown Error." This only happens on my phone. If I access the forums on my laptop they work fine. I'm using an android and chrome browser. I'm using the same browser on my windows laptop...

    Parents Fly-away meet tips/suggestions?

From my understanding, the meet host has to upload the scores to myusag. It has nothing to do with usag itself.

Parents Does your gymnast care what event they start on at a meet?

Generally no. But she hates going first in a rotation, it always throws her off!

ChalkBucket Members Only Groups (Join Us)

Nope. Just didn't see anything about them being removed and wanted to make sure I wasn't missing them.

    Purposeful Change to Forums?

When I go to https://chalkbucket.com/forums it down defaults to a big list with unread threads across all forums at the top rather than the individual forums listed. Was this a purposeful change? (I personally find it annoying and prefer seeing the individual forums which is now an extra click...

Parents how do we stand out hosting first meet?

Another thing that stands out to me is visibility (i.e. how easy is it for spectators to see all the events). The best meet I've been to for this was the Arizona Sunrays Classic Rock Invitational. There were 3 roped off "gyms" in a huge room. But each gym was accessible on all four sides. I...

    Off Topic Chronic strep throat

Make sure you are doing things like replacing all toothbrushes and such after each infection. Other things like everyone having their own tube of toothpaste and making sure toothbrushes are not near each other can help too as well as frequent disinfecting of surfaces. In addition, a strict no...
