Coaches Set Up / Take Down Rec Gymnastics- how many rotations?

Thanks so much everyone. I'm starting to think that is what I will do. Floor PLUS 2 events only. Floor each class and then rotate 2 out of the 4 (beam, vault, bars and tramp). They want the tramp every class of course! But it is a folding one which takes 20 minutes alone to set up. Thanks...

Coaches Set Up / Take Down Rec Gymnastics- how many rotations?

Does anyone here run gymnastics out of a school gym where you have to set up and take down each time? I'm used to a gym where we warm up for 15 min and then go to each event for 15 min. But at the school, I feel like I should just do 2 (bars and floor, next week vault and beam, etc etc). It...

Coaches Old bars too slippery - how to repair?

We got an old set of uneven SA bars but the wood is pretty worn down, they are very slippery. Is there anything we can do besides replacing the wooden bars? Can we sand them down?

Coaches Which flexi rolls to purchase for set up/take down recreational gymnastics?

I would like to purchase these new roll out mats for our small town recreational program (that is set up / take down twice a week), but I don't have any experience with them. From what I see, they come in different thickness 1 3/8" or 2". We only have enough money to buy 2, to make one long...

Coaches How to prevent mats from slipping?

Does anyone know a best way to prevent mats from slipping on a school gymnasium floor? Just your regular basic blue panel mats and some thick landing mats. We started running classes in a school but everything slips...all we can do right now, do everything against the wall. Any ideas how we...

Coaches Recommendation for a bar system?

Yes, these look great, you're right. But I was told that they have to weighed down with extra stuff (like sandbags). If that's true, that seems like a lot of work. Does anyone else on here have an experience with these?

Coaches Recommendation for a bar system?

Can anyone recommend a portable (no anchors) bar for a recreational gymnastics program out of a rec center, i.e. it's set up / put down. We are just starting to purchase equipment (starting from scratch) and cannot decide on a bar. We'd prefer something up to age 14...THANKS COACHES!

Coaches How to patch a rip on suede beam?

Hello coaches. We just reupholstered a beam. With suede material. 2 weeks later, there is a 3/4" cut/ rip on the side, just below the top. How should we fix it so it doesn't keep ripping? Should we use ductape or cut a patch of suede and glue it on? Or just spray with some glue? Thanks coaches!

Coaches Warm up routine for mummy & me class

Simple moving games. Hop like a bunny to something red. Leap like a frog to something green. Bear walk and touch your nose to something blue. And a three legged dog - they love that one. Got to make it fun. Stomp like a dinosaur and make a "roar" sound. Very simple tag game with "it" holding a...

I am sore all the time too...but I think its age for me....40.... But if you are a hands-on kind of coach - you are getting a work out no matter how big or small the kids are...For me, its shoulders, neck, upper back.
