Let me encourage you to try out at every place that you think is a possibility. Think of it as a period of learning about the sport. You learn much more about the essence of gymnastics by seeing what several gyms do in common, and which ones have odd or unhealthyractices or manipulative...

I want to add my vote for finding a gymnastics-specific ortho and PT if you plan to stay in the sport for a while. There is so much more information that a doc who understands the specific skills can give in terms of what is allowed, or not allowed as she recovers. An ortho who doesn’t know...

My daughter says it is in support of him. She knows some of the people involved and they are supporting him. Her sense from the people she knows who went to The Ranch is very much that they liked him, and that it was quite different than Marta.

You don’t. I know this happens at some scary places. Most gymnastics coaches are good people, and it isn’t unusual for them to stick around to help the kids. Often they are being mistreated as badly as the kids.

This description is right on, and again, Twistars is not the only one, and it sure ain’t the worst...Oh, and the brainwashing isn’t subtle.

In my experience, stress and sleep are by far the biggest factors.
