    Parents Parent Video Brag Thread.

Ok I will post something. My dd who is usually very cautious was working a back 1 1/2 punch front tuck and layout just decided she wanted to try this- and she landed it.

WAG Talk to me about front handspring front vault

So I guess that is my concern. I like my dds coach but she is young and inexperienced.. I know she has not coached this vault before. I also think she is expecting her to compete this for level 8.

WAG Talk to me about front handspring front vault

My dd has been working this vault on and off I think the plan is for her to compete it next season (level 8). I really didn’t know anything about this vault so I search this site for previous posts. I am now terrified! Is this vault really that dangerous? My dd was a very successful front...

WAG Can someone judge a fhs vault?

This was in our home state, but she has competed in various states on the east coast as well as Texas and California.

WAG Can someone judge a fhs vault?

She scored a 9.2 which I know is not a bad score but competing this vault for the last 2 years she has pretty consistently scored around 9.6 with some 9.7s so the score felt pretty low for her. Just trying to figure out what she did differently.

WAG Can someone judge a fhs vault?

I was a little hesitant to do that, but you are right I have learned from seeing other people’s posts. If it wasn’t for this site I would probably wondering why she did get a perfect 10 . Hope this works

WAG Can someone judge a fhs vault?

My daughter is level 7. She usually scores well on vault but at the last meet scored lower than she has been. I am not sure why? I can’t see where she got the deductions. Anyone willing to take a look? Not sure if I should try posting it here?

MAG Can an eleven yr old compete JD?

My ds has been competing level 8 but does not know the tech sequences. The coach told him he can compete JD at states, but I am not sure he is old enough? He really doesn’t want to relearn the 7 routines. Does anyone know if he is allowed to compete JD?

WAG What apparatus most often keeps gymnastics from advancing to the next level?

For my dd it is the scary beam! She is always held back because of beam fears especially going backwards -walkovers then bhs and now the series. She gets skills then gets scared again. :( She could be a strong level 8 on all the other events but is competing 7 because of beam...

    WAG Probably A Ridiculous Question....

WAG Unable to pike ..training level 8

Thanks for your replies. I will try to find a PT for her. As for her gym it is not super competitive but they do like the girls to do well. This was the bars coach I think they were working on toe on? And toe shoot? All the girls do the same bar routines so I guess she has to have these skills...

WAG Unable to pike ..training level 8

My 9 year old is currently training level 7 and also working level 8 skills. Coach recently had a talk with me that DD will not be able to go any further with level 8 skills because she is unable to touch her toes. Dd has always struggled with flexibility she only got her good leg split about a...

    WAG Mixed dominance twisting direction?

My dd had the same issue except she is a righty and I guess she was twisting left. The coaches told her she had topic it and twist righty. Luckily they caught it early and it wasn't hard for her to switch.

    MAG Age requirement changes?

Yes I am happy that it works out for my ds. He did very well at level 6 (scores of 64+). So I am hoping it continues to level 7. However in is age group at regionals this year there were only about 14 boys I image as some of them did not do very well it will get smaller for level 7 it seems by...

    MAG Age requirement changes?

Skschlag in response to your question ds will compete as a 10 yr old under new requirements so will be 11 to compete level8 (if he is ready). But seeing how this will effect most boys except those with summer birthdays I would think the group will stay mostly the same. This unfair to kids that...

    MAG Age requirement changes?

Does anyone know if they will change the age requirements for levels as well? I am wondering because my ds who currently competes as an 8yr old just completed level 6 and is moving to level 7. With the current system he will have to compete level 7 twice before moving to 8. With the new system...

    Parents Questionable coaching practice?

My 8 year DD just started summer practice with a new male coach. She was a bit nervous with the new coach so she asked me to stay for warm ups. Which I did. As the girls were doing Back Handsprings the coach told my dd not to bend her legs, then had them do BHs again. Apparently DD had bent legs...

Parents Level 3 competing kip instead of glide

Thanks for the responses. I hope that it is giving her experience and practice for next year. She has been able to do the level 4 bar routine since September so maybe her scores next year on bars will make up for this year
