So remember when I posted how the older level 8’s & 9’s got the boot from Region 3 Regionals championship? Well as I went to the Texas State meet site and just happened to look at the age groups guess what I saw... Texas BOOTED those age groups from th State Meet too! UGH! What next?

Well I wanted my son to move to 9 this year but coach refused saying the jump from 7 to 9 was too big.... nothing I could do. Like I said he will be back on track next year as a 14 year old level 9. When we got to the RD761 meet yesterday I expected to find a tiny group of level 8 13-14 year...

I guess 2021 season.... the changes always happen after the summer Olympics

And come 2020 the age rules could change again.... my understanding is that it will possible go to the age youbare Jan 1 but who knows.... I wish they would just pick something and stick with it insteadong of changing it every 4 years

What I hate the most is how the last age change totally screws my son (and I am sure a lot of others).... May birthday! Yup short end of the stick so “technically” he is right where he belongs as a 12 year old level 8 BUT May Birthday makes him a “13” year old... I wish they had never screwed...

No we are not going to switch him... he will be back “on track” next year. In the grand scheme of things it is not a huge deal but I wanted to see if this was an across the board thing or just something Region 3 decided to do.

Region 3 is split that way too but they are still kicking them out

So my son competes in region 3 and is a 13 year old level 8 and we just found out Region 3 has decided NOT to let older level 8’s & 9’s compete at regional championship Wondering if this is something happening in all regions this year or just in this region

I am curious of people’s opinions.... where do you think the line is between a Tough (we can even say mean) Coach and a verbally/emotionally abusive coach. I know what my thoughts are but I am curious what everyone else says.... what crosses a tough coach over into feeling they are...
