Parents Need experienced TOPs parent ASAP

My DD made it to national test and this is our first time participating (she is in the 9 yo group). We are needing to make a decision quickly about wether to send her alone with coach or for us parents to attend but I have a lot of questions like where do parents go during the test? I know about...

    Parents dance belt

I posted this in the general questions forum but thought I'd try my fellow parents. Coach wants DD to wear a dance posture belt at home. Does anyone know what these are really called and where I can find one small enough for a tiny 6 year old? When I googled "dance belt" it gave me a male thong...

    Coach

wants DD to get a "dance" belt for posture at home. She is 6 and small for her age. Does anyone know where to get a small enough belt and what exactly they are called. When I googled "dance belt" it came up with a male thong .

    Parents Meet fees

How does your gym handle meet fees. I am talking for gymnast registration only, not coaches and other misc expenses. Do you pay as needed per registration, or do you pay a set amount before competition season begins. If your booster/gym has you paying in advance, what amount?

    Would like a coaches perspective

This was already posted in the parent forum but I would appreciate a coaches perspective or maybe even gym owners. This situation has been very odd and unexpected. It happened Monday 1/12: Something horrible has happened for our gym. We went to (level 4) practice today and the gym was...

    Parents Devastated Gymmie/Need HELP

Something horrible has happened for our gym. We went to (level 4) practice today and the gym was practically empty. The owner apologized that we obviously didn't get the "email" he sent to everyone about the *situation*. The ENTIRE team coaching staff quit and practice is put on hold until...

    Parents Holding gymmie back?

I haven't posted in awhile, been busy with school but... It seems my gymmie is being held back and I was wanting some more experienced opinions before I approach the gym (if I even should). She is on the level 4 (USAG) team and turned 6 in July. She practices with the team girls but they did...

    USAG registration

Can anyone tell me if there is a deadline for gymnasts to register with USAG membership in order to compete for the compulsary season? Can they register at any time and jump into competitions late?

    Parents First rips brag

I can't beleive I am even bragging about this becasue it seems odd, but DD got her first hand rips  during practice today trying kips and boy was she so proud of herself. She ran to show the gym owner her wounded hands like it was the greatest thing in the world. She is six as of yesterday...

    Hello

Hello, I just joined the other day. I have a five year old DD on pre-team and we accidentally found this forum while shopping for leos. I don't know much about gymnastics so I'm glad to have found this resource to educate myself with my DD's gymnastics obsession. A little background: She has...

    Knees bent in back handspring

I'm looking for suggestions on improving my daughter's standing back handspring at home. When spotted (and I'm barely touching her), She has perfect form. However, when she does them alone, her knees are always bent and sometimes legs far apart. She can remember to keep her legs together while...
