That makes a lot of sense. In the most recent video it was a few inches further away, but not a huge difference. I’ll play around with that a bit at my next practice and see if that helps!
You guys are amazing!! Those tips make so much sense and made a lot of difference for me, even in just one practice. Many more drills to go, but I’m feeling more confident!
Thank you SO much for this info! This definitely helps with what I need to focus on, and thanks for the drills for it too! I'm definitely going to be doing those.
As far as the shoulder angle part of things, I definitely agree with that being an issue. I tried working on that during my last...
One of the best tips I've learned in the last few years is making sure you don't rush through your routine and keep your focus on your breathing! Muscle memory works wonders, so when you take your mind off thoughts like "I really need to land this" and put it on body awareness, you're going to...

That's a relief! I do have wristbands- thanks for checking :)! My grips just came in yesterday night so I'll double-check with my coach when I have practice tomorrow.
Are my grips too small? These are my first pair of grips, so I trusted the instruction's vague description of fit and went ahead and broke them in. According to their size chart, they should fit perfectly (size 2 is between 6 1/2' and 7 1/4, and I'm 6 3/4'), but they just generally seem a little...
I’m relatively new to competitive gymnastics (I was doing recreational up until two years ago), and this year is the first year for my gym that the competitions are judged. For reference I’m a level 3 :). I’m not quite sure what qualifying for state entails completely, but for Ohio, my state, I...
