A long time ago, in level 4, we ended up having to run 30 minutes for warm up instead of 10 because a lot of people were walking. Then when we started events, everyone was completely out of it so our coaches made us condition the rest of the night O.o it was torture and I couldn't walk the next day!
A while ago in class we were talking about decimals and somehow scores came up so she asked my classmate (who apparently was a high level gymnast but I don't believe her) what would be the best score you can get in gymnastics? And she said a 9.999. I tried so hard not to laugh
Your coaches are right! What you imagine is way worse than what can really happen. Ask your coach if they can spot you on a baby giant or long hang pull over until you start to feel comfortable. For the tap up I would recommend working a lot of back extension rolls while trying to stay as tight...
The level 4s always have a red white and blue adidas leo, the 5s and 6s have red and white leos with a lot of rhinestones and a rhinestone american flag on the upper arm of the left sleeve, the optionals have a white leo with a red swirl and a blue swirl on the chest, white mesh on the sleeves...
I know! I also hate the meets when they do the places from last to first! Especially when the podium is super high because then you have to take a running start to get to first place lol
One time during practice, my friends and I started laughing about something extremely stupid and I went to do a bhs, bhs, back tuck and as soon as I set, I somehow cowboyed, traveled forward, stopped rotation, and spread my limbs and did a completely parallel belly flop on the floor. It really...
Project Runway, Little people big world, True Life, Viva La Bam, House, Shear Madness, So you think you can dance, Scrubs, What not to wear and I know it's terribly offensive but I absolutely LOVE South Park :p
Wow I'm going to try to cut this list short lol
-I can't put my hair in a ponytail unless I am walking around
-I love to eat peanut butter straight from the jar
-I am deathly afraid of spiders O_o
-I can't do a forward roll on a beam to save my life
-I can knit and crochet =D lol
-I am strangely...
I have the same exact problem with backhandsprings =/
What I do to make myself throw it is to visualize the skill while taking deep a breath then I climb up on the beam, give my self 15 seconds to throw, and if I don't, I just go back to medium beam, stick a couple, then go back up to high beam...
I would say you should work them without the extra cast because it won't let you develop any bad habits.
You could try a drill that our coach had us do when we were first learning casting to handstand. Set up a floor bar in front of a small spotting block and with your hands on the bar, try to...
I'm a 7 and I had the same problem =)
I totally agree with the whole strap bar idea. It definitely helped me get more confident with giants. Do you have a problem with the swing down or the tap up?
We have full size lockers so we have to share but we're allowed to decorate the inside but not the outside because one time someone broke into the gym and tore everything off of the lockers =(
It really depends but you might want to have a back up pair broken in just in case. My friend was at a meet and while she was warming up her grip somehow tore in half but she had a back up pair so she was ok! =D
