Parents New Feature: Test It Out For Us!

Great quiz but kept thinking some should have been multiple choice. e.g. gradual progress for meet results, hoping they do not get injured. Thanks for continuing to evolve the gymnastics community!!!!

I am so sorry to hear that about the announcers and your daughter. It sounds like she is an amazing athlete/ person and certainly did not deserve to have anyone talk that way about her.

Parents L10 gymnast (The Reality Of College Gymnastics)

As with all data, it is not perfect and probably not complete. That is simply a fact that needs to be considered whenever we use and consume data. As far as my data set, here are the numbers of active gymnasts with graduation year. I am always working to improve my data but this is just one...

It is only possible because I have their graduation year.

The state is determined by the location of their gym. The initial numbers covered all L10s the subsequent we're filtered to gymnasts that were recruitable. No 2024 commits have been announced.

It is data that I have complied from a variety of sources and created a site/product to better understand gymnastics. The site provides information such as metrics/analytics across all gymnasts levels and locations. I sent you a message with more information.

I hope this provides a little more optimism about college gymnastics. 2022 L10 Numbers By Region By State

It is not always clear is a commit is scholarship or walk-on but this data it includes both. I will post 2022 a bit later today. As you may imagine, the rates are higher because colleges finalizing their rosters and athletes graduating.

Here are the 2022 / 2023 numbers. The number of gymnasts is based on simple rule for "Active", basically, competed in the last year and in the graduating year. The assumption is that there are some injured gymnasts who have not competed recently. NC - 52 with 18 commits - 34.62% commit...

After thinking about the data a bit, the numbers are probably a bit low because the total athletes are all level 10s but commits are only 2022/2023. I will provide an update on the numbers for only athletes who are eligible.

Parents L10 gymnast (The Reality Of College Gymnastics)

It is just the reality of sports, very few are rewarded with a scholarship. My position has always been that scholarships should not be the goal. Too many things can happen along the way in gymnastics (they need to stay healthy and continue to love the sport). Also, gymnastics is expensive...

Some interesting data that may help everyone understand the likelihood of gymnasts competing in college. Please note that this is for active gymnasts (commits for graduation years 2022, 2023) Commit by Region Commit by State

    ChalkBucket Is Secret?!?!

This is a good idea. It would allow sharing if information without concern that our experiences (or children's) would be connected to the individuals. For example, share information on an injury and not worry about possible recruiting implications. I do think it should be moderated.

WAG Meet not telling girls their scores

My opinion is that these serve more as a way to train towards a goal and manage progress as opposed to setting a bar that needs to be reached to progress to the next level. Goals, timeframe, effort, attitude and possibly pressure; the things our girls will need to understand and manage to be...

Parents The hits just keep coming..

Sorry to hear :( Injuries are a brutal aspect of the sport and you daughter needs time to recover. I know this is probably difficult to hear, however, it is in the best interest of your daughter to let her fully recover and not worry about regionals. Gymnastics is a marathon not a sprint and...
