    WAG front layout shaping

I've noticed that many girls tend to have pike-y front layouts where they pike in the beginning and then whip their legs over. Any tips or drills to avoid this?

    WAG Level 10?

Of course it is possible, but it will be difficult to achieve. It's good that you are dedicated to your goals because you will definitely need that dedication. If you compete level 7 sophomore year, and compete a level up every year after that you can compete level 9 in your senior season...

    WAG Back handspring help!!!

Try to jump a little higher in the beginning so that you have more time to prepare your arms to block off of the ground. When your arms do hit the ground, make sure to push all the way from your shoulders and keep your arms strong. My coach used to always say to hit the ground instead of the...

    WAG Fly away fears

There's also a more advanced version of timers that includes the flip a little. For this drill, you'll want to set up a "hill" in front of the bar. To do this, stack up some wedge mats and an 8-incher with the lowest part of the hill facing towards you. Then do a timer off of the bar and land on...

    WAG Fly away fears

Have you done timers before? If you haven't a flyaway timer is when you do tap swings on a bar above a pit, let go when you would let go for your flyaway, and land on your back in the pit or on top of a mat in the pit. This can help you be less scared of letting go of the bar.

    Parents Level 8 skills

Just out of curiosity, would you be allowed to do a front walkover front tuck beam dismount in USAG level 8? If so, would the front walkover count as the forward/sideways element? Also, would there be any "not up to competitive level" deductions? I've never seen any level 8s compete this...

    Parents Level 8 skills

Yes you can do handstand bhs as your series as long as you have one other flight element in the routine that starts and ends on the beam. Bhs is ok, but a back/front tuck dismount does not count because it doesn't finish on the beam. And no, the other flight skill doesn't need to be connected to...

    Parents Level 8 skills

I'm not completely sure the exact requirements, but a common level 8 bar routine is kip cast handstand, half pirouette, kip squat/pike on, jump to the high bar, kip cast handstand clear hip handstand or toe hand, giant, giant, layout flyaway. I've also seen some girls do the circling skill on...

    Handspring help

To keep your head in, you can try holding something soft between your neck and chin. Try to keep it from flying out while doing your back handspring. This will train you to keep your head in, even when you are not holding something between your neck and chin. For your arms, one drill you can try...

WAG Tight hamstring popping and tingling in splits

Whenever I do my left leg splits, my hamstring feels tight. I know I am flexible enough to do a full over split on a panel mat with my left leg, however, if I push past a certain point in the split, it feels like my hamstring is popping and a tingling sensation travels down my leg. It is a weird...
