Just from watching lvl 6-10 meets it seems like most kids do yurchenkos from lvl 8 when they actually flip it but they do a tsuk timer in lvl 6-7. I guess this fits in with what @LJL07 is saying.

Another interesting thing I saw this weekend... at state meet when it came to awards they began reading out the awards from the session before:) every one looked really confused!
Like I said I'm not a coach so I really dont know the rules... I don't know how that bar dismount was allowed. Maybe she expected to get a deduction and just wanted to try out competing it and then the judges just decided not to deduct it... I don't know.

Lol I have no idea im not a coach! Seems like her coach decided to hold her back from HOPES this yr but she plans on doing it next yr. Ill keep you all updated!
My sis is level 9 training 10 and does 22 hours a week over 5 days. She is doing Hopes next yr and not increasing her hours. Next sis is level 6 and does 14 hrs over 4 days. No need for more!
It seems like level 1 and 2 are really similar so there isnt really a point in kids doing level 1. I mean level 2 doesnt have a round-off anymore, the bar routines are really similar, and beam is also really similar. The main difference is the vault
Injuries are more due to how the gymnasts train than how many hours they train. Of course a gymnast who trains 30 hrs a week is 1.5 more likely to be injured than a gymnast who trains 20 hours a week. But reducing stress on the body, using safe landings etc are most important to prevent injuries
