Yes I think that’s my main thought, if this is the right place long term for us. I’m super big on my word so that’s striking a nerve, we also have a super flexible school schedule so I can make most things work, so maybe the environment of a gym wanting 17.5 hrs at level 3/4 5 days a week no...
For the parents who homeschooled to have better life balance for the kiddos. Do you have any regrets ? Have your kids loved it? Do they end up wanting to go to regular school?
Maybe they meant Round off Double back handsprings as in 2 of them in a row after. Some people with negative gymnastics knowledge call them backflips...and my kid did that at 4 and handstands on bars at 5, so its very possible.
I have the same a 5 year old going 90 min 2x a week. Everything I’ve researched has shown this is totally fine. The activity and exercise is great for them. I think individuals are more referring to anything over 6 hours a week at this age. Especially 5 year olds that are close to 6 and training...
I totally understand I don’t understand the gym secrecy stuff amongst parents. Why not have it all laid on a website or when you start pre/team have some document that explains their process and that way parents know. We all just have to figure it out. SMH
So recently my original gym mom bestie decided a gym switch maybe a good fit for her daughter. She was at the gym we both met at. Well all the very known, good gyms are about 30 min some in same region. She set up 2 evaluations, one gym in current region one in a neighboring region. Her daughter...
What are some reasons that you experienced parents would think coach talks meetings would be needed vs. Owner/Director conversion. Me and my gym bestie definitely disagree but there isn’t any rules on this? When do you determine to address a concern or let it ride?
Definitely wouldn’t worry about it. Within 30 days of the end of the season is when move ups would typically start. I also wouldn’t be worried about the no info on tryouts etc. I think it’s very common to not hold tryouts.
See I felt like the gyms around us once I started snooping. Do level 2 and up, but your right more teams equals more fees and more $$$ for the gym. So could definitely be a money grab.
It could be possible, I know nothing about the sport, I have no kids in gymnastics or family in It. When my husband got transferred late 2019 and we decided to put her in it his, new boss was like take her here their great, we literally just tried it out and she loved it. Ive had to google and...
I think I definitely didn’t get in depth enough with my questions and I felt kind of rushed and nervous because they always look so busy. I will definitely catch the director at a off peak time and ask all of the above, thank you for the great tips.
The only thing they said when I asked if she was headed on a team track, “this was a couple months ago”...was that they don’t make any promises to team, and that she was progressing great. I felt like that was very gray, and I’m not 100 sure who makes those decisions if it’s the rec head coach...
