Welcome! You will find this a GREAT site! Very friendly and full of information!
Best wishes to your gymmies!
Leslie & Mackenzie (7 yr. old Level 4 in NC)
Thank you so much for clarifying that for me! And it makes me SOOO HAPPY!!
Other than that HS, she looks awesome on BB, so we'll see how she measures up!
I just volunteered to chair the "Butter Braids" fundraiser at our gym. First time the gym has done this one. I don't know at this point how the other girls are doing yet, because we just started last Friday, and will run through next Thursday, the 14th.
I have already sold over 70 rolls, which...
I found a site online where you can buy a set of cards that puts the "Compulsory deductions at your finger tips for all SIX LEVELS. These new sets are 8 x 11 in full color--coded by event. Eleven full size cards."
I'm a gymnastics lover from WAY back and want to know everything that's going...
:beam:I had a question about balance beam. My 7 year old L4 is doing an awesome job getting ready for competition to start here in NC, and she's having a great time. Ultimately, that is what is important to me.
However, In the Level 4 beam routine, there is a handstand that she is struggling...

Welcome!! Sorry to hear about your back fracture. Glad to hear you are back at gymnastics and doing well!! You are NOT supposed to use your head to land on!! LOL!!
Good luck in your competitions!
Leslie
TotallyAlsum,
We were rookies this year. My dd is 6 years old and just ending her first competitive season Level 3. It is true what everyone is saying here. Mac LOVES gymnastics ALL the time and it is amazing to me how much determination and drive she has to master new skills. Also, how much...
My DD has grown fond of the spray-on bandaid stuff too. Even when she doesn't HAVE a rip, we use it everytime she works out as a preventative. And she says that once it gets good and dry, she doesn't even know it's there.
She has not had a rip since we started using it.
I just wanted to say that I'm so glad to be a part of a board where honest, heartfelt opinions and responses are respected and used as learning tools and incite.
My dd started "dancing" (ballet/tap/acro combo class) at 3 years old. Along the way, she has played t-ball, basketball, soccer, she...
I THINK you may be talking about the mill circle!! My dd is Level 3, age 6, first year of competition, and just about 2 of the 8 girls on the team (both 8 years old) are the only ones consistant on making it.
I'm not a coach, but I can tell you that Kenzie's coach says that staying straight...
Expenses
I know what you all mean about the gymnastics being expensive, but if you look at sports as a whole, it's not anymore out of pocket than if you had a child on a travel ball team or competition dance. I started a part time job when my little one started travel dance competition. She...
Suddenly feeling very lucky!
 I don't know how some of you do it! I guess we're pretty in-line here with most of what I've read, but some of the gyms seem outrageous!
I pay $140/month for my level 3 dd. She is in the gym 5 hours a week. The parents at our gym are required to pay the USAG...
Welcome to chalkbucket
I am a mother of a level 3 (6 y.o.) gymnast! This is our first competition season, as she just started last August. Mackenzie is very excited and we are all looking forward to meeting new people, seeing new skills and watching her develop!
Welcome to Chalkbucket! :)...
