I live about an hour from the Naperville Gymnastics Academy that just landed 1 girl on the Sr. National team and 1 on the Jr. National team.
Since I don't know many people on here, I wanted to say congrats if any of their family members are around.
I am so proud to see not one but 2 girls...
My daughter is having a really hard time with her rips and rope burn. We recently moved to a new gym where they aren't allowed to use their feet to go up the rope, the other gym did rope maybe once a week.
She was hysterical last week with the pain from the rope burn, other than the obvious...
My daughter is moving from a gym where she was USAG level 4 to a gym that does Level 3 and competes. Now it's obviously not USAG and that is fine with me. She really needs to get the basics down and have proper form before trying to hang with the big kids..lol
Anyway, how is level changing...
Okay so my daughter has been doing gymnastic classes for around 8 weeks and then the past 4 she has been on team. Her muscles are starting to come through and she is starting to get a round little butt. Is this what happens to the girls bodies?
It's so funny because she is so tiny and then...
That may not be the right title for this thread but I was wondering which age bracket has the most girl's in it? I would guess this isn't the most competitive but the bracket that you see with the most athletes. From what I hear, the 8 yeard old bracket is usually the most full.
On the Olympic front the ICU has met with officials concerning the inclusion of cheer in future Olympic games. This is a long process, but one that both the ICU and USA Cheer are vigorously pursuing. As of today we have not been approved to be an exhibition sport in the 2012 or 2016 Olympic...
While trying to compare the gyms that are near me this is the only information I could find that the 2 closest places competed against each other at. It's not level 9 or 10 so does it even mean anything? obviously the teams in red are the ones near me. I know one had a better day at this meet...
We are headed to Vegas in a few weeks and I would like to know where I may be able to take my dd's to train at an open gym. Does anyone live there or have any suggestions?
Here is my first video of pictures. Please don't critique because I know I stink..lol

How do you figure out what is the best gym in your area? We have 2 decent gyms very close but I don't know what to look for as far as which one is best for my daughter to train at. I can fo sure drive 1 hour to get to a few great gyms but I won't due that until I know my dd can really compete...
I am trying to start a poll about how long it took your child to move from level 4 to level 5 so if it doesn't work, forgive me. I know there are posts out there about this so I thought it would be easier to do a poll.
Does your gym make you go to every meet they enter or can you pick and chose the number your child goes to?
How many do you go to and do you take advantage of each meet or allow for some time off from meets?
Sorry for all the questions and thanks for all the answers and patience with me.
If my dd is blocking on the connection from RO to flip flop and pauses in between, what is the deduction she will have to take on floor?
