Looking back, my favorite season to watch was probably level 7. My dd was excelling, confident, and uninjured that year, and the optional routines were so much fun. First year of level 10 was brutal - entirely the opposite vibe...everything felt competitive and full of pressure for recruiting...
Since both of my "babies" are in college this year, I'm starting back to college myself this semester! I went to NYU for just year after high-school, and college seemed like something that was always a given for me to finish. And then life happened. I've been raising kids, working, waiting...
My daughter is a D1 gymnast. We have had the trampoline since she started gymnastics years and years ago. It has been a constant source of entertainment and activity for both of my daughters. I always figured that my gymnast is probably the safest person to jump on a trampoline, unlike me when I...
FYI per my daughter's coach: as of yesterday NCAA is limiting all college championship events to essential personnel only. We don't know yet if PAC12s will allow family attendance or not, but doubtful with the slew of cancellations today. Team is still travelling today to LSU but that is also...
Here's a link to EdX - you can take some college level online courses free to get a feel for the content. You can actually sign up for a whole bunch and never actually take them, with no repercussion to your life!

Judging by the R5 representative, speaking as someone from the region and someone who’s had multiple concerns about said representative (because of his victim shaming behavior and the fact that he has defended and defended and defended USAG ad nauseam), this new organization should die before...

My 2 cents: 11 years in this sport with a multi-year level 10 gymnast, nothing is gymnastics is "typical" or "average" and age is irrelevant.
If anything, a typical age in gymnastics can only be narrowed down in relationship to a goal - so the average age for acquisition of...
I thought this email sounded slightly more human and less PR-Speak than anything to date. I feel that there was a tone of recognition in there at least. Crossing my fingers.
I know my wallet would hate me, but it would be super fun for my daughter to make it as a senior after sitting out with a surgically repaired knee last year! Way more fun than Indy (no offense to Indy but we are sick of the mid-west lol).
I thtink if a child (or anyone for that matter) has the drive and passion for something, and they have the resources and support to follow the dream, then they should go for it. If “well rounded” (in the sense of trying a bunch of things just to try them) is the “best practice” then why does...
Just to set the record straight, SCE is correct. The Letter of Intent MUST spell out which years will be funded. The letter can state 1 year, 2 years, 3 years or 4 years (and not always consecutively - I'm looking at you, Pac12) , but it has to be stated on the NLI letter. Once that is signed...
Nice article! How fun to have some recognition in the paper! My dd's school yearbook put a page together for her this year, which was super fun, but they didn't quite nail all of the details correctly, either. As much recognition as the sport gets during the Olympics, no one outside of the gym...
