Jake realised that he shouldn't have walked in during the middle of Jenny's training. So he quickly left the gym before coach Liukin caught him. Jenny returned to bars to work on release moves. Five minutes into practice, ........
Don't worry, I had the same problem! You won't be able to fix your split leaps overnight, but if you practice regulary you'll soon see improvment!
First off, you have to be able to do the splits, to be able to do a 180 degree split leap, like the gymnasts in your photos.
I stretch for 30...
As the girls walked in the new gym, the head coach walked over and welcomed them. The girls were introduced to all the gymnasts at the gym, and of course, by now, everybody was aware of the vandelism situation.
Jenny mentally assesed the new gym. It wasn't actually half bad. Most of the area...
I'm in a similar situation, my gym wants most girls to do two years of level 4, but i want to move up to level 5. I'm not sure if i'm ready, I've only done two meets so maybe i'll stay in level 4 next year. but i guess i would rather be able to compete and get good results, rather than just...
Jenny thought life was being unfair, she was being forced to choose over a normal happy social life with lots of friends, or basically living in the gym training 24/7.
However in her heart she knew gymnastics was her one and only passion, and she could never live without it. Her coach said to...
Is there a way you could practice on a medium beam? Or one a bit higher than the low beam?
Try having a coach spot you on the high beam, so you'll know your safe. Or maybe put mats under the beam so if you did fall, it wouldn't be far! I agree with what gymdog said, just make achievable...
I had the exact same problem. I would immediatly bend my arms and 'crumple' because I was scared of landing on my back.
All of the drills listed above helped me, but the best one was being spotted by a coach and now I hit hanstand, then roll with straight arms EVERY TIME!
Give your DD time to...
Wow! This is going to sound so silly, but I never knew until just then, that gymnasts pay for routines to be made!
I live in Australia and our head coach makes everything up, and you can help give input if you want to.
We usually source our own music off the internet or from music shops, so...
I got Reisport Grips at the start of Level 4, but only because I would rip EVERY LESSON, and it hurt!
They were fairly easy to break in, but took me ages to re-adjust to gripping the bar, it was quite hard for me. Obviously this wouldn't be the case with everyone!
However on the plus side, I...
I'm in Level 4, and our beam routine requires a ''straight jump' dismount, or, as a bonus, you can do a front sault.
I can do a front sault off high beam onto a crash mat, but as soon as the mat is gone, I totally lose all confidence and get scared I'll hurt myself. How can I get over this?
I got my grips at the end of level 3, they are fantastic!
But I only got them because I would rip every single gym class, and now I hardly ever rip.
I can't say there is a lot of difference with the way I grip the bar though, so I would only get some if you're hands rip a lot. Hope this...
Level 4
I'm a Level 4, my beam is routine is really solid, my bars is about 70%, I'm learing my optional floor routine, and vault is a work in progress :) My newest skills are RO BHS and BW to a competition standard.
I live in Australia, and our gyms colours are blue and silver. Not that original, I know, but you can get a lot of gym equipment in blue and white! And as mentioned before, blue looks good on most people :).
