    UPstarts

In the kindest way possible, let gymnastics be HER thing. You shouldn't be 'really worrying' about her skills .If she picks up on this (and she will) you will turn it from a fun hobby to something she becomes anxious about pleasing you in

    Slimgym

ok so I am now very concerned about this company.I have paid over £400 of my own money for a piece of equipment which they said was in stock and available for immediate delivery and they don't answer their phone or respond to their messages. Also bought something else from their ebay shop, they...

Thank you.I have ordered a vaulting table so your post was very reassuring.I am finding it very hard to get hold of slimgym to speak to though.I have emailed and rung but no joy. I also want a couple of reasonably priced 3ft high beams. They have them in 8ft lengths but I think we need at least 10ft

    Coaches Building a Tumble strip

I have built a prototype tumbling strip. I used sliced up pool noodles, some cast-off pieces of plywood from husbands work, industrial Velcro and some of those thick EVA yoga mats.My daughters have tried it out and it seems to work a treat!. I think if i put a red carpet strip on top and...

    Coaches Building a Tumble strip

e have been trying to get hold of a reasonably priced tumbling strip for a while, and I have just come across a website selling a 'kit' which supplies the springs and/or foam blocks, fixings to join the boards together, instructions and screws, cups for the springs etc. I have priced up the...

    Coaching Qulaifications

I think there should be core and modules at every level. For example i have done WA 2 plus 1 WA3 module.I would like to swap to the tumbling route. This means (as i understand it) i have to go right back to L1 tumbling, and even though I will only get 1 extra skill (whip) at the end of it, I...

    abuse or bad practice?

what if a school teacher treated a 9 year old like that? They would be struck off!

So what is going on with BG?

Thank you.I am sure you are right rd7 and I think that is the problem! Why is the gymnast's performance on teh day relevant? It should be very easy for a half-competent assessor to test a candidates knowledge and supporting skills even if the gymnasts cannot perform the skills unaided. In a...

So what is going on with BG?

I want to make a complaint about BG -but i don't know who to My child was the gymnast for a coach doing the L3 beam module.teh coach failed because my kid was having a bad day (having had a spill the day before) and was frightened to do the flick walkout without support- she did it fine with...

Parents What traits does a talanted preschool gymnast have?

.most preschoolers won't even still be doing it at 9, so I would say that enjoying the sport enough to keep going is the most important thing

    Coaches Half on, half off

should they continue turning in the same direction, or 'unwind' in the second half? I have seen both, and I must say I think the former looks better. I got to wondering whether the 'unwind' version id a compromise for gymnasts who can't get their hands all the way round? Any guidance would be...

    Coaches Dangerous Coach

Also it doesn't sound as though she should have put your daughter fwd w/overs anywhere near the high beam if she needs support. She hould be building moves upwards from the 'line' very very gradually making sure she is confident and consistent at every level before she goes up to next height

    Coaches Dangerous Coach

What is the management structure? Who are you reporting this girl to? I would suggest all you coaches put your concerns in writing and maybe send be recorded delivery to whoever is in charge, . it is much more difficult to brush a written complaint under the carpet.
