Went to sports specialist...He x-rayed and did an MRI. I have a Talus OCD (Osteochondrial Defect). Can't put any weight on it for 6 weeks, they wanted to cast it. I refused and got a boot instead. Any ideas for conditioning to do while I wait for it to heal?

Whatever you do, keep an Ankle weight on the other foot. Otherwise one side of your body Will get stronger than the other. I would say Lots of ab work, handstands, maybe Some bars.

Why die you refuse the cast?

My friend who had a similar injury got the cast and ended up needing surgery. She didn't come back to gym. I was just worried that it could happen to me. Thanks for the tips!

My daughter had OCD in her elbow. I don't know much about it in the foot but sometimes it just won't heal on its own and surgery is what is needed. We didn't even try conservative treatment because the doctor said it wouldn't work. as for conditioning, lots of arms, abs, and core and stay off that foot. OCD is a long healing process but be patient and you will be able to get back out there!

Thank you so much! I'm hoping that it will heal and no surgery. Doctors aren't sure yet,:(
