I have a girl who has a gorgeous back walk over on a line on the floor she takes it to our fat beam and its the same but when we go to a normal floor beam she freaks out. Even if there are panal mats. She used to have the skill on high beam by herself and now all of a sudden she seems to be afraid of going backwards. Any suggestions as to how to get her skill back. We've tried different drills as well it seems more like a mental block.

Just lots of time to relearn it as if she never had it in the first place. Have you a thin soft mat you could throw over the beam to soften it.

Tick tocks and bridge kickovers are another good way to build confidence. Also build up mats at the end to the beam to the same height and have her do back walkovers from standing on the end of the beam back onto the matting.

Allowing lots of time and repetition, starting from the very basics and very gradually moving up. Try to stay positive, congratulate her on improvements, and just try to keep her pushing forward. I know baby steps can seem to take painfully long, especially when it's a skill you know she can do, but it can help prevent this from happening again.
