What do you have your girls do to break in their first pair of grips?

I have 3 girls that have grips on the way and these are my first girls to get new grips (others don't need them yet or already had them once I got them). They are around old L5-L6 in the states (P2 here).

Breaking in grips I usually have my girls do lots of tap swings and easy things like pullovers and back hip circles. I never did anything with levels so I'm not sure where your kids are at but long hang pullovers (some people call them baby giants) are also good too. Thinking back to when I had grips, kips were difficult because you change direction and the dowel sometimes got caught if they weren't broken in enough yet. They could work thinks like tap turns where they still are working on skills but not anything scary.

Does that help?

Thanks, I don't want to have them do too much right away because of them not being broken in and that they have always gone bare handed before.
They can kip, sole circle, cast handstand, flyaway as well as basics.
