i REALLY want to learn a front handspring front vault this summer.
i went to OSU gymnastics camp a couples of years back and had them going into a pit..but unfortunately my gym doesnt have a pit..
any drills??

Uphill FHS- stack mats until they're above table height and do FHS onto them.
I'm not sure if this would work if you don't have a pit, but FHS FTs off a wedge-- one foot entry, hands on the end.

Once you can do that, you could put the L4 vault pit behind the table and flip onto it. If you can land in a squat (or higher!), then you can probably make it (or at least get your feet down first) on a competition surface.
