We had a super exciting meet today. First, it was at the BIG convention center in Houston. But the part that my daughter (and I!) were over the moon about was that Mary Lou Retton was there and she put the medals around every single girl's neck! How cool is that???? I honestly don't think my DD even cared what her scores were up next to that. LOL Mary Lou also posed for a picture with every team. I have a great picture where my daughter was telling Mary Lou that she did a report on her last year in school. After that, she was just standing there bouncing up and down while they were announcing the rest of the medals. LOL This was her hero she was meeting!
They did this one a little different and lumped all the seniors together, all the juniors together, etc., so it made the competition more fierce. My DD's highest placement was 6th on beam and she placed 8th all around, and her team got 1st. What an exciting day!
