Lately we have had a lot of threads here seeking medical advice.

It is a bad idea to ask for medical advice on the internet, for a variety of reasons. First of all, most chalkbucket members are not licensed physicians. Second, those who ARE licensed physicians cannot diagnose you or recommend treatment over the internet. Third, it's inadvisable to share your private medical information with random strangers on the internet.

If you need medical advice, the best person to talk to is a licensed physician who has examined you in person.

Bearing in mind that there are medical issues and questions specific to gymnastics, we are working on putting together a more comprehensive policy about what is allowable and what is not. However, until we have decided on a more specific policy, please refrain from starting any threads seeking advice on injuries or other medical questions.

General questions about injury prevention are (for the moment) fine.

However, it is still perfectly permissible to lament our latest gymnasts' injury, correct? I know sometimes I just need to vent that she has DONE IT AGAIN!!! (Gotten injured)..... not seeking medical advice... just venting!
