I think no unless they were only used by the first owner for a week or so.

Grips are safety equipment which should not be shared. They stretch out over time, becoming thinner and more likely to tear; knowing the original vs current feel can help you determine when they are nearing the end. Additionally, they will have stretched and the leather molded to a specific person's hand proportions so they may have started as a "size 1" but now be more like a "size 1.5," throwing off the intended fit. Finally, you don't know how the grips have been treated - used with water (against manufacturer's recommendations) or had a brush used where the dowel is sewn in (making the stitching more likely to fail).

Grips are expensive so it is tempting, but I just don't see it as a good idea.

Every now and again a girl gets a pair of hand me downs that are in good shape because theirs are ripped, and a meet is coming up , and it has worked out. But under that circumstance they are coach inspected, and during the season, when breaking in new grips is likely less realistic.
