My kid has finally gotten her teeny tiny dowel grips (pixie grips, size 00). She is thrilled to have them and seems to be adjusting well, but mentioned that in front support her hands are spread pretty much flat across the top of the bar and she can't wrap her fingers around the bar. Is this normal, or does it mean that her hands are too small for grips? (Not that it matters because the gym requires dowel grips at L4, just curious.)

I can't quite picture what's happening in front support (maybe also related to grips being broken in?), but as long as she can maintain a strong grip in circling skills and tap swings, the grips are doing their job.
