I'm new to this forum, though I've posted on a local gymnastics forum before. I'm the proud mom of a level 9 who is injured (maybe permanently) but still determined to do the events she can do, so I'd appreciate any information anyone has on how far you can go as an event specialist.

Welcome! What kind of injury does she have? We had a level 8 at our gym who had a stress fracture in her back. She was in physical therapy for it. She, eventually, quit and now cheers. If one of my dd's has to do physical therapy b/c of gymnastics, we are OUT! Injuries, like the one described above, can become lifetime problems, and I wouldn't want my dd's to have to deal with something like that for life. Hopefully, you're dd's injury isn't too bad, and she can make a full recovery.

Hello and welcome. As for your dd's injury, I don't know much about the club circuit, but at YMCA nationals for level 9 and 10, there are even event finals for event specialists, so best of luck to you and to her!

Welcome to the CB!! You might want to post that question in the coach forum(parents are allowed to post questions there) since we have coaches from all across the US dropping in here.
Since your dd is a L9, we can always use your years of experience in the gym with many issues---join the gang!
