Men's Vault Finals

Ok, so I knew the men did harder vaults than the women, but I didn't realize they were INSANE! Wow. The vaults they are doing are nuts. handspring triple front?! full twisting double tsuk? So cool to watch! I'm glad no one got hurt.

I don't know if the D scores are determined differently between the men and women's vaults (anyone know?). Looking at the D scores at rio2016.com, the women, in general, had vaults with higher potential D scores. Two women attempted a Produnova (7.0 difficulty) and Hong Un Jong attempted a triple twisting Yurchenko (6.8 D score if she had managed to get the third twist completed, which she didn't).

Much different. A Prudonova in women's is a 7.0, whereas for men's its a 5.6. All the vaults follow this pattern.

Yeah - wow re: those men's vaults. They were adding half twists to and almost sticking landings on vaults that the women weren't even close on. And those who try and say Maroney and Biles are as good as the men are WAY off . Maybe there are some men they are better than, but they certainly are nowhere close to being as good as the best men.
