We have not done this meet before. Anyone have tips to share? We are staying at the Broadmoore and we will have a car and a couple days after the meet to explore.

Been there the last two years..good meet, nice venue..activities will be weather dependent. First year; 70 and sunny, golf courses were open..last year, 20 degrees and 20 inches of snow on the ground..either way lots to do in the area..pikes peak itself is fun to drive..we made it to about 12000 foot level last year..Air Force academy ( they have a women's team by the way) is a fun visit, US Olympic training center, lots of micro brews, and eateries, and of course the mountains..The broad moor is great, but bring your wallet..its spendy!

Garden of the Gods is amazing. you will just love the Broadmoor so that alone will be cool. Visit the Olympic Training Center and Air Force Academy for sure. Make sure you go to the Air Force Chapel...it is amazing!! If you like zoos, there is a great one there called Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. There are also more commercial things: cave of the winds, the north pole that are pretty neat. Manitou springs is a small town near there that is fun and funky.

And yes, lots of micro breweries and restaurants. Hopefully the weather will cooperate!

Others have covered the fun stuff - I just want to warn about weather... we had awful travel in and out of Colorado Springs - never did get a flight in and ended up flying into Denver and driving. Flying out we were delayed by freezing fog (I didn't know there was such a thing). Good luck!

Denver is going to typically be a bit easier to get in and out of. It is larger, and has more flights. It is about an hour + to Co Springs from there. But yes, teh weather can go any way. sunny and 80, cold and 35, snowy and -10. Or, all of the above.
